Mallard's — Restaurant in Nashville-Davidson

Simple and clean spot that's really been upgraded recently. Nice new sign clean interior a real improvement. Still Not much in way of atmosphere some table cloths and lamps instead of the overhead lights would do wonders. We got breakfast prices seemed reasonable. Biscuit was flaky style buttery and a touch of salt really liked it but gravy lacked flavor. Eggs and hash browns were fine. Pancake were dense but I enjoyed the texture and taste with a hint of sour. However the log cabin syrup was a let down would be nice to have real maple. Extra butter made up for it. Lunch and specials look like good home cooking style meat and three type offerings. There is plenty of parking and the staff was nice. One TV turned to cable was a bit distracting but they turned football on at least. Overall a nice spot with tasty food really upgraded from what it was but could probably be dressed up...

I was very disappointed. Their website and google say that they have a Breakfast Buffet on Saturday and Sunday, well that is a lie, they do not have a breakfast buffet and they are closed on Sunday. I still decided to give them a try, I ordered the Ribeye breakfast. The ribeye looked and tasted like it came from the Dollar Tree, I asked for medium rare, but due to how thin and cheap it was that was impossible. The biscuit was like rubber so I’m assuming that it was microwaved too long before being put on my plate and the gravy was gritty and had no flavor. To add insult to injury the management or owner does not seem to trust their waitstaff as they had to come from the kitchen to cash out every customer.
