2.5/5 for me
I REALLY wanted to like this place. But 1st issue is parking is kind of a disaster in the area. If you can find a spot and get in you might be confused.
There is a big sign inside the door that says you go up to a certain counter to order on the other side of the restaurant I ordered right there.
5/5 out of employee friendliness
2/5 logistics of this restaurant are a mess you get a number card after you order your food, Numbers on table are small and I saw food runners not being able to easily locate the proper number on the table, resulting in running from area to area to locate person. I suggest getting the tall metal card holders with giant numbers. Also write in the note in POS where the person plans to sit it may help.
almost no table service, hard to ask for a clean glass, ones on table were dirty with stuff floating in them after I poured my glass.
5/5 for having water and utensils and plates and hand sanitizer on table already.
5/5 for using actual plates and flatware.
4/5 for ambience, it’s very loud but it’s a cool vibe, I like it. It also smells good in here.
I ordered cavateppi bolognese, it’s pasta with meat sauce, it was $18 I believe, in house made pasta. It was undercooked, hard to chew, and the sauce was ALL meat and not really any sauce. It was bland. Hard to ask for black better and salt, no option for Parmesan cheese or anything. I should’ve tried the pizza it looked good plus it’s coal fired which is amazing.
I asked for a side of bread I got cold focaccia no bread knife and butter weirdly swiped on the side of the plate. Bread would be amazing if it was hot or something.
Disappointed that for $18 plate of pasta sucks and I highly recommend not ordering the pasta here. I think the pizza would be your best bet. It seems...
Read moreWell, this is my first and last time to ever come to Nicky’s Coal Fired,, Holly Heaven , 3 pizzas and a plate of pasta for $150.75 what a experience with No alcohol drinks. , It was me, my wife and a soldier who just got back from a deployment. We were to enter @ 5 pm their opening time , we ‘ve been greeted and attended by a server who was nice with us , we ordered 2 pizzas , a pasta plat and a salat with Chicken , while were choosing what to eat we did mention one other pizza, but we then clearly said to our service we don’t want it, we will stick with 2 pizzas we ordered. First the salad came out within 10 minutes , then one pizza after 15 minutes and then the 2nd. Pizza came out after another 10 minutes , what was astonishing was they brought us a third one after 15 minutes, the servers suspected that we didn’t mean to order a third one where did this come from, He felt that there has been a misunderstanding in taking the order.,, we said the third one was the one ordered by my wife and she wanted to try it. Honestly speaking the pizzas were good but not supper like a Napolitan gourmet pizza. Long story short, I asked for the check and ,,, wow it was like Chicago and New York bills $150 and NO alcohol included, what really upsets me was there was a mandatory Service charge of 18% equaling to $21.24 that will be paid whether we like it or not. Finaly they offered us a some desert which we didn’t find tempting just for them to compensate for the delay in bring out the pizazz. That evening wasn’t a pleasant one...
Read moreMy husband and I dined at Nicky’s not long ago (amidst COVID) and had a wonderful experience, great pizza and drinks, and customer service was priority. We dined today and were less than warmly welcomed by the host who barely made eye contact while on his phone and redirected us to a standing table covered in menus. There we were to choose our order and then place back with the host where we paid in full (tip included) prior to being seated for food and drinks. I’ve never been difficult to satisfy with food, much less sent anything back, but the cheese tortellini was chewy/undercooked and had a very bizarre flavor that I was unwilling to consume. While I had no intention of sending back the dish, it was surprising to me that of all three rotating servers, not one made eye contact after serving the meal to check in and/or ensure that things were well with us. We ordered an appetizer, two entrees and two cocktails, tipped 20% topping out at $120. My husband did enjoy the spaghetti and meatballs, and the drinks were great, but the lack of customer service and whatever happened to the dish I ordered was not worth what we could have gladly spent elsewhere for an entire culinary experience. My husband sought out a to-go box on his own and we were barely recognized on the way out. Is this decline a very late COVID reaction or has management changed? To be clear, you do not get a server. You order at the door and are initially served, but not maintained thereafter. This is expected at Chipotle but not at...
