I love Ramblin' Joe's SO MUCH! It's such a welcoming atmosphere as soon as you walk through the door, and the staff has everything to do with. I've had a series of really great interactions with the staff, and wanted to highlight two in this review because they really went above and beyond, and I really appreciated it. First, the other day, I walked in knowing that I wanted some sort of latte but don't usually order coffee, so I didn't have any clue what to order. I asked one of the baristas (I forgot his nameeeee, I'm so sorry) to recommend something. He asked me a few questions, then said that he had an idea and asked if I wanted to keep it a surprise, and of course I said yes!! He made a really great drink (it had all of the flavors of s'mores), and was so lovely to interact with. I really appreciated the help and the element of surprise! Today, I walked in again, knowing that I wanted coffee (who am I becoming???) and wanting to try a new flavor. I was greeted warmly by the barista, Annie!, and then asked her if she new what the "highlander" flavor was. She made me a small sample of coffee, milk, and the highlander syrup so that I could try it before committing. It was DELICIOUS, and I ended up getting it in my latte! Such a wonderful interaction that, again, I really appreciated. Made my Saturday morning that much bright :)
Annie, the barista-who's-name-I-WILL-learn, and the other staff of Ramblin' Joe's are the reason I come back time and again! Oh, and the drinks and atmosphere are...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreSome of the best coffee and food items in town. BEC bagel on everything bagel is to die for. 3 stars is because over the last 2 months they have randomly been changing store hours and if you show up within 30-45 min of closing on these new hours they cut the oven off so you canāt get any hot food items. I understand cutting the oven off when itās close to closing time, but if youāre constantly changing hours (especially on weekends) the oven needs to be on until the store is physically closed. If youāre coming just for coffee youāre good, but if you want any food item that requires being warmed up you have to come at least an hour before close. Good luck figuring out when they...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreRambling Joe, what happened to your old Espresso Roast!??! You used to sell the bags. It was, no exaggeration, my favorite coffee of all time. Any visiting friends to whom I gave a cup left Nashville with a whole bag in their luggage because of their mutual adoration!!
The espresso I got today was not only relatively bad by Joes/UglyMug's standards. It was just flat out bad (poor, acrid and sour finish with a stale coffee bean taste). My wife got a cup too and threw it out without me even saying anything to her about how I also disliked it. PLEASE GO BACK TO THE ALLTIME GREAT ESPRESSO ROAST.
Anyway, love you guys, thanks for years of amazing coffee and...
