If I could leave a zero star review I would. I love the food at this place and it makes me sad that I will no longer be ordering or dining in there. When I dine in, the food is right but the service is literally the worst you will ever receive. Severs take your order and then never come back after that. Then they decide to add an 18%gratuity to every check, even to single person checks. I always tip over 20% because I know they share tips with the chefs but demanding me to tip is just in ridiculous so I no longer tip anything outside of the 18%. The situation that broke me from ever going back though was the fact that I order multiple orders a week from this restaurant and I always call in after I order and ask them to cook my steak rare, because there isn’t an option for that online. Everytime I order, regardless of the fact that I call in, it’s always wrong. It’s always cooked well done to the point it’s hard and hardly edible. Today I called and did the same thing as always, I called in after placing and asked them to cook the steak rare. Upon getting my order and getting home, my steak was indeed cooked very well done, yet again. When I called and told them about how this has happened multiple times, her answer was “well I looked at it and it was not cooked well done.” I said “maam I’m not trying to be argumentative but I just tried to eat this steak and it was so well done that I couldn’t chew it.” And to which she replied “well either you can bring my steak back or you can eat it.” I had drove 30 minutes in total for this food and didn’t want to get out again in the rain and she said “well all I can do for you is give you 10% off the next time you eat here because I don’t know how the chef’s do it, but it wasn’t well done” I politely told her that me not any of my friends or family would be going back to this restaurant. About 6 months ago, new management stopped half price sushi lunch on Wednesday. I could live with that, only half off on Mondays:( Oh well, new half off menu has prices marked up from regular menu then half off but still a great deal nonetheless. About a month ago I noticed the Naruto roll on the half off menu and ordered 4 of them. The new manager immediately came over to confirm 4 orders as if surprised although each order only has 6 pieces. After further introspection, I realized his problem was the white tuna component of the roll which is expensive so they were probably losing money. Two weeks after that, I went to Sakura with my son and ordered 4 Naruto again but this time JoJo said something to the manager and the manager came over to explain there was only enough white tuna for 2 rolls, not 4...just One problem with that as we were sitting at the sushi bar and could clearly see the white tuna there and there was enough. Today I went in for "half off" sushi lunch Monday...and GUESS WHAT!! Menu changed, NO Naruto. So I told NEW management I was leaving and why and not coming back. Customer lost!!! I immediately headed down the street 5 minutes to the newly opened Chikuyo-Tei Asian Cuisine restaurant in Oakwood Commons shopping center. No reflection on the cook who was good and entertaining. This was my first time at THIs Hibachi grill and it will certainly be my last!!! I too Chandra was a victim of the price flip flopping. I ordered chicken and shrimp fried rice from the kitchen because I had a certain amount of time before i needed to leave but when I got my bill I was charged the hibachi grill price (aprox 7.00 more)When I made the server aware she first said it all cost the same then. She came back with a menu and said show me. Once I showed her she told me I didn't say what I wanted right. Despite her asking me atleast twice AFTER she took my order if I wanted my order from the kitchen. She even went so far as to separate our party according to those who were eating from the grill vs kitchen. I also confirmed with her a third time my order was coming from the kitchen when she brought me soup and salad..which I returned. Despite ALL this she STILL charged me the grill price and wanted to argue with me that I didn't tell her the right way what I wanted. Instead of acknowledging the apparent misunderstanding and make an attempt to rectify my issue, she proceeded to argue and over talk me. This was by far the WORSE case of customer service I have ever experienced. No manager came to check on me nor did she return. This said to me they did not need my business nor were concerned about my satisfaction. All the server had to do was explain how she misunderstood me when she took my order and I would have understood. But my satisfaction was not her concern.
