For a chain restaurant at the entrance of a town known nationwide, featured in film, and a college town at that, it needs to be pretty good. This was the definition of not. As someone who has family and friends in the Foodservice industry at several levels, I was a little surprised did this place hasn't had its behind kicked by Wendy's corporate, or the Board of Health!
The gentleman who took our order was that only dirty and disheveled in appearance, but extremely unknowledgeable of his register, had to be told the order no less than four times, with specific parts repeated more than that. Due singularly to his extraordinarily lackluster ability at Cash, the store was no less than eight customers deep when we walked in, and it took at least 10 minutes to get checked out.
On the other hand, this allowed my wife, and another woman, ample time to go and use the store's restroom. However, they returned weather upset, as the sink in the women's restroom does not work. Now, last time I checked, Wendy's did not have a secondary restroom especially for its female employees, someone assumes that a lot of them haven't been washing their hands unless it was at the dish station.
It also afforded me ample time to go to the restroom after them, after my wife rescued the situation with bottle of Purell and some wet ones. Our sink did work, however the towel dispenser with broken and open, the industrial towel roll spattered with what hand prints, and the garbage can under it overflowing to the point of generalized disgust.
The food, after the intervertebral length of time we spent ordering it, did come quickly, but it was badly fixed. My wife's chili was much more a soup, and contains none of the onions that she asked for, and a better excuse for cheese. It also had no crackers or hot sauce included with it. My burger it was flat as a pancake, with all of the vegetation of a concrete parking lot.
Overall, the meal was poor, the service was poor, the staff at best seemed disinterested, the restrooms weren't clean, and what should have been the 15-minute stop added on nearly 40 minutes to a 200-mile trip. Thanks a bunch, Wendy's Natchitoches. You've done...
Read moreI don't normally write reviews, much less for fast-food chains that you're all familiar with, but I felt this Wendy's needed a spotlight put on it. It's rather apparent that the operator cares about customer service here, because it radiates from the people they choose to hire. For starters, our cashier was more personable than I would expect from a waiter at a reputable restaurant. That friendliness doesn't happen on accident, and is always a welcome change from the average fast-food cashier being nothing more than an order taker. Oddly, it was a genuinely pleasant experience to place an order here. Secondly: I made the mistake of not specifying I wanted a change to the way my burger was dressed. So, I brought it back to the manager ask if a replacement were possible. The manager was very attentive to make sure he understood exactly what I actually wanted to have on the burger. I went and sat in my booth. Then, not only did he walk the burger out to my booth, he stayed by me while I checked the burger to make sure it was made correctly. I don't expect this from Wendy's, especially one that deals with a lot of right-off-the-interstate customers. I know the owners will see this, so please know that your attention to detail is realized. The little things that you take pride in are paying off, bringing repeat business, and making people's days a...
Read moreRudest people I’ve ever dealt with! Twice now I’ve left without food. The first time I had been waiting over 20 minutes while they took the order of the vehicle in front of me and when it was my turn to order they informed me they were now closed- seriously? They could have sent an employee out to tell people that they would not be served OR maybe NOT take 20 minutes to take one order. THEN today the worker taking my order was short with me and interrupted me even though I was the only customer. She was even more rude when I attempted to clarify since she had cut me off. She then told me to “pull to the first window” (still hadn’t repeated my order to me so I didn’t know if she had it right)! When I arrived at the “first” window you come to there was no employee there so I went to the next thinking maybe she had made a mistake in her haste. I stopped at that window and was reaching for my wallet when a male worker opened the window and says “Ma’am” and then POINTED HIS FINGER BACK TO THE OTHER WINDOW! Really, you want me to back up and can’t even say the actual words?! So rude! I was stunned and told him “never mind” and drove away! Their employees need some serious education in customer service! I’m done with Wendy’s in Natchitoches, LA. I wouldn’t give them my business if they were the only remaining restaurant open...
