Mochinut — Restaurant in National City

I recently tried Mochinut at National City and it exceeded all of my expectations! I wrote them a yelp review, but I figured I should do one on here too.

The mochi donuts are absolutely delicious and have a unique texture that I have never experienced before. They are crispy on the outside and soft and chewy on the inside, making for a perfect bite every time. The variety of flavors is impressive, and there is something for everyone. I especially loved the matcha and appreciated that they brought it back another week as requested. It is a dessert that is "not too sweet," which accommodates the tastebuds of us older customers. The hotdogs were great. I was a little bit hesitant on trying the ramen one, but it became a personal favorite of mine. The inside was cooked thoroughly, and I was able to do a fun cheese-pull with it! The staff at Mochinut National City are also friendly and approachable. They were happy to answer all of my questions and make recommendations based on my preferences. Overall, I highly recommend Mochinut to anyone looking for something to bring to their get-togethers. We went into Mochinut and there was only one employee working at the time. She was busy frying and measuring, which is understandable, but during the several minutes we were in the store she never once acknowledged us. No greeting, no eye contact, nothing. We even stood there discussing which donuts to get, hoping she might glance up or say something, but she didn’t. With the music playing loudly, it felt awkward to interrupt her, so after waiting, we ended up leaving without ordering.

All we wanted was a simple donut box, nothing time consuming or complicated, and it was disappointing to feel completely unnoticed as customers. A quick “I’ll be right with you” would have made a huge difference and we would have waited.

I’d suggest the owner look into hiring more staff for weekends or training employees to at least acknowledge guests when they walk in and cleanliness was lacking as well. First impressions matter, and when people feel ignored, they’re not likely to come back. Mochinut has good products, but without better staffing or customer service, it’s hard to recommend this location

Update 2: LOL scroll down I'm not the only one that this happend too Update 1:Honestly I'm good on the discount I think you forget the part that I showed up at 840 and the app allows you to pick up food 30 minutes before the pick up window. That's when the text message began and you told your worker that I can buy the last bag on the app and to refresh it but I wouldn't pop up . Once I told her again it wasn't showing up you tell her someone else bought it and that you didn't know what to do anymore. That was very unprofessional that you could of just cancled that person who just  bought it order to give me the time to buy it again since I was already their but instead you told your worker theirs nothing you could do. I'm a just keep this review up and not go back again. Thanks I appreciate everything :)

Honestly disappointed with the owner and the too good to go app. Placed the order and drove all the way from imperial Beach and when I arrived owner canceled and my order and told me that theirs nothing she could do about it. Tried to explain why that was unfair when I drove all the way over here and was told that they don't know...
