Chipotle Mexican Grill — Restaurant in Naugatuck

Yikes… I would generally never be too hard on a place that hasn’t been open very long. In fact, I've actually defended this Chipotle against some attacks during its first couple weeks. However, I finally went there myself for the first time, and the level of rudeness and incompetence that I experienced was profound. I ordered for online pick-up and my order was said to be ready for 12:40. I got into the pick-up line at 12:43 and there were three cars ahead of me. The line never moved. At 12:55, one car ahead of me got out of line, parked, went inside, and immediately came back out with their food. I followed suit, as did the car that was behind me. When we got inside, there were three workers just kind of standing around doing nothing in the pick-up area. A girl (who appeared to be stoned out of her mind) asked me what my name was. I gave her my name, and she proceeded to laugh at me, walk away, and continue to do nothing. Then one of the other workers came over and asked for my name and the other person who had parked from the line. The worker went over to a shelf where our food was just sitting there for however long, and brought it over to us. When I went back outside, that car at the front of the line was STILL just sitting there. How do they not have that car park and continue to service the other people in line (like every other place with a drive-up window does)?!? Needless to say, my food was super cold, and not nearly worth the $30 dollars for two burritos. I might try them again in the future, but right now I’m kind of dumbfounded. When they opened, there were many young people who were very exited about the opportunity to apply for jobs there, but they didn’t really have any openings. I love chipotle , but not tonight . I go in , relatively late, about 20 minutes before closing and I expected at-least the bare minimum. They had no rice at all, so being the negotiator I am, I requested double protein in exchange for not receiving rice at all . I was denied this and instead asked for half steak, half chicken. Now, at every chipotle i’ve been too, they of course charge for the highest price protein. So usually, I get charged the $12 and whatever for the Steak. But instead, tonight I was charged for “extra chicken” . I didn’t request extra chicken at all, and even the gentleman who was prepping my bowl even said I got half Steak half Chicken. Unfortunately, no gratuities were dispensed because of the lack of human logic and generosity. As a former employee of Dunkin’ , when we were out of something . I used to add two donuts, and even a couple extra drinks in exchange for not having a particular product a customer ordered. The individual who cashed me out even was hesitant to hand me my receipt . I’m glad i asked for it. Being run for my money especially as a person who’s identified as a minority by society , by another gentleman who’s classified as the same social group is unfortunate . Especially when you’re not being paid by hour, close to what I was charged tonight . I’ve never written a review ever in my life for anything . Placed an order through the app for a pickup time of 6:30 pm. Got there at 6:20 pm and there were 6 cars in the pickup window line. By the time I got up to the window it was 7:00 pm. There were two girls packing orders at the window who looked right at me and kept glancing over and laughing. They didn’t acknowledge me once. Multiple people came over to the to-go order shelf right by the pickup window and didn’t acknowledge me. When I beeped my horn to get their attention, the two girls by the window started laughing even more and deliberately ignored me. There was a line of 7 cars behind me at this point and people behind me started beeping. Finally a tall African American man with glasses came over and asked what the problem was. What’s the problem, sir!? I’ve been waiting for my food that’s been ready since 6:30 pm and it’s now 7:20 pm. There’s a line of cars wrapped around the building, blocking the entrance to the restaurant. Finally he hands me my food which was cold and nasty. Lettuce was mushade 🤌🏽 Threw the whole bowl out.
