I have to give a huge shout out to Store Director Tracy Lambertson! What an amazing human, director, consummate professional, caring - not only about his employees but his customers as well. Iāve seen him there all the time Iāve my many excursions for my shopping. He stops & shakes the hands of customers that are wearing their veteran hats & thanks them for their service. He smiles & greets all customers he sees and he knows every employee by name & checks on them during their work day. Heās a āhands onā leader. Today, I approached him to inquire about lettuce that I had purchased last week that unfortunately didnāt look great on the outside once I opened the head of lettuce, but once I cut it off & washed it, my husband & I ate it. Now, we both ate the lettuce, but my husband also had a full dinner as well, I did not. The next morning we were both very sick & the only thing in common we ate was the lettuce. So I was asking Tracy if he had heard anything & that I noticed there were no heads of lettuce today. He apologized profusely many times & explained how sometimes those types can get water trapped & cause issues unbeknownst to the store. I said thatās totally understandable, no worries. He told me a few times to go get a refund and I said no, Iām not worried about the $2.50, I was just wondering if there had been a problem & wanted him to know. He said, āreally, go get a refundā and again, I said no, itās not your fault or the stores fault, itās not a huge deal. I thanked him & off I went to continue shopping. Later on, Iām in the milk section, and here comes Tracy and he comes up to me & says here, please take this for any inconvenience & starts handing me something. I said no, I donāt want anything, I just wanted to ask & make you aware of what happened. He said no, please take this, we are a neighborhood store & we care about our families that shop here. So I did take what he gave me & put it away in my pocket and finished my shopping. Once I got home, I realized I hadnāt looked at what he gave me. This kind, caring, professional, sweet man gave me a Big Y gift card for our little inconvenience of lettuce. He went above & beyond to make this right and believe me, he didnāt have to. I didnāt want anything except to let him know about the contaminated lettuce. I donāt have enough words to describe such a stellar man, dedicated, not only to his employees, but his customers! Please get this message to him of how appreciative we are for having him there daily and also that his work & commitment does not go unnoticed by frequent shoppers like ourselves who SEE him, truly see him & his heart & passion for what he does day in & day out.
Many thanks to you Tracy for being who you...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreMy husband who is a disabled vet moved here 3 years ago. SINCE then, we have given this Big Y at least a couple hundred dollars in business weekly, doing our shopping there weekly.
This evening we went in to use one of the vending machines over by the courtesy desk where a young lady behind the desk and a young man ( BOTH store employees) were making small talk to pass a not so busy night's time.
We were having trouble with the machine which clearly said ON it to ask a store employee for help if you had trouble. Apparently this was a common thing. When we turned to the young lady behind the courtesy desk to discuss what was going on, and ask for help she very rudely said, " oh that's odd", and then ignored us to turn her focus back to conversing with the young man who ALSO could have helped us.
I felt very upset being ignored and so rudely shrugged off by TWO store employees that I wanted to walk out. After practically begging, my husband got the young lady to stop her engageful conversation with the young man to come around and help us with the problem, but I still felt very unlikely to return shopping there again.
I sometimes dont like MY job EITHER....but if I have a customer, I tend to their needs. ALSO....if you are hired by a supermarket to work, you are there to work, NOT to try to find a date. It was CLEAR from this behavior that neither of the 2 employees cared about doing their job and more about staring into each orhers eyes treating us like an...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreTerrible service in the seafood department todayā¦rude customer service. I came in around 3:50pm and asked to order a whole belly clam dinner, the man working explained they were no longer available in a manner as if he was surprised I wasnāt awareā¦I said, no problem, Iāll take a clam strip dinner. The man seemed annoyed and said āwell, itās gonna be awhile there are two orders in front of you.ā I responded, no worries, I have a little shopping to do, not in a rush. I asked for onion rings instead of fries he said ā we donāt have any more onion ringsā no problem, Iāll take the fries š went on shopping. Returned in about 15 mins and waited as I usually do. Noted the same gentleman taking care of several customers ordering fresh seafood. Noted some fried food orders ready to be bagged.( thought one may have been mine) The area was busy to be fair. When the fresh seafood customers were all taken care of, a second employee joined the area. It wasnāt until 4:35p when the gentleman turned to me and said āunfortunately we donāt have clams, I thought we did but we donātā š³ I just responded with okay, thank you and went on my way. This is my third time attempting to get a dinner here recently all three times were met with unpleasant customer service, each time I hoped for a better encounter knowing that everyone has not so great days but after today I will not be entertaining the seafood...
