Asked for chicken tenders meal but got chicken on a bone meal instead. And they shorted me 1 piece of chicken of that, plus getting mostly wings and legs. Of 6 rolls, 3 look like someone sat a heavy box and flattened 3 of them and were trash at best. Asked for large fried okra and didn't get any. One mashed potato looked like it had a thumb indentation in it.
I called about these errors as this was a drive-thru order by my husband. He was upset saying they got the order completely wrong and DIDN'T LISTEN TO HIM. He bought the chicken out of love for me and felt his efforts were thwarted due to so many mistakes. I wanted my husband to feel better. I was not upset as I understood mistakes happen, and although disappointed, was not angry and would allow the restaurant to remedy their mistakes. I called before eating at home and was told not to worry about coming back anytime soon, to come back in at my convenience. Just bring my receipt and explain what happened, and they will make it right.
I am chronically ill and disabled, getting out only once a month as it is a hardship on my body. So, the next day, after running errands, I went inside with my receipt and explained what happened. A nice but resistant blue shirt manager in photo wanted me to go home get all the food left and come back a 3rd time with remaining food plus my receipt, only then will he will support my claim. I said that's not what the woman on the phone told me when I called the day before. I said it was an inconvenience and asked if the restaurant reimbursed for gas for 2 extra trips to get our order right? He said no. So I said I would go home, eat some chicken, and bring back the rest for a full refund since they don't refund for gas or inconvenience to customers when they get the order wrong. He said he would only refund for what we returned, nothing more. (Despite the fact we were shorted on pieces of chicken and other items we paid for.)
I said I would take a photo which the nice blue shirt manager posed for. I said I would post a public review online. Then things turned ugly as an employee guy in a gray shirt ordered me to delete the photo, or he would call police on me. I said he didn't know the law. This was a public space, and I had the right to photograph and post this photo, which he posed for. Then, an angry gray shirt employee ordered me immediately to leave the restaurant, or he would call police who would put me in handcuffs and arrest me, dragging me out of the restaurant. I said shame on you three times.
A table of three customers witnessing the spectacle started strongly clapping loudly and boldly for me, trying to hold this business accountable. One clapping woman stood up, applauding for me, defending my rights at being bullied and threatened out of the restaurant without resolve. (☆To me, the restaurant was in violation of the law via Theft of Services and/or Assault by Threat. While he was threatening to call police, ordering me to leave, because I refused to delete a lawful picture I took to prove I had returned; and who I spoke to.) I was deeply moved by the strangers public display of support for me. That was uplifting and vindication to me. They even stopped eating their food and stood up applauding me.
I smiled and waived to them, thanking them. The woman standing told me to call my bank about what happened, and I thanked her again, telling her I would call them. I started towards the door and nearly tripped on a rug that was upended. Then I heard someone say get the he// out of here, and turned around to see who said it. Then I heard someone say I hope you trip and break your neck, again not seeing who said it. But I replied, if I do trip and hurt myself, you know who I will be suing. I then walked over the rug and got in my vehicle with my receipt and no missing items or credit, no resolve, only threats and bullying, and then I drove home.
Had they simply made things right as promised over the phone, I would have purchased an additional large family fish dinner restoring our relationship. I...
Read moreMy experience was excellent. I was traveling from Houston to College Station with my dogs for vet care. We utilized the drive through 30 min to close. My fried fish was cooked to order and piping hot. The friendly woman working the drive through informed me the fish can take up to 15 min to cook and asked if that was acceptable. I was fine to wait and excited to try out the sides, mac and cheese, mashed potatoes, biscuits and dinner rolls. My food was brought to my car between 10-15 min after I ordered it. It was piping hot and delicious. I really liked the breading and crispness of the fish. It wasn’t greasy. Biscuits were buttery, soft and warm. I watched the employees clean while sitting in the car eating, since my dogs were with me. I thought the restaurant looked clean through the glass doors and windows. They were definitely serious about moping the floor. I have no complaints. I’m surprised there were so many negative reviews. This was my first time visiting a Chicken Express. I’d never heard of it until I was driving past it. I very rarely eat fast food and this was more on par with causal dining food...
Read moreWish I didn't even give a 1 on service! Ordered a #20 Which includes gravy, and at the window asked for Honey mustard and manager runs up and demanded that we pay for it..... in which we did, then the guy shut the cash drawer when we were owed change back, but just said, oops I'm sorry. Then get all the way home and no gravy, when it's included in the almost $50 meal!!! When I call to let them know, all he said was to save the receipt and get it later!!! NORMAL places actually will reimburse you anyways!!! Ridiculous!!!!! Never will I go back!!!!
The manager was completely rude and I was deserved money back for cash paid, but he accidentally "shut the cash drawer"!!!! Then says, oops sorry, REALLY???? NEVER BEEN ANYWHERE WHERE I'VE BEEN TREATED SO RUDE. I leave great reviews and have a high ratings, and hardly EVER bad one's!!!! Need to find the owner of the franchise because other Chicken Express restaurants have never been this way! I'm sharing this on FB, and every possible place if I don't hear back about this!!! And since I won't most likely, I just...
