The lady who works the cash register has to wait tables too, but it's clear that she hates her job. We ordered a Pepsi and she brought out a diet Pepsi. When she brought the food out, she walked right by the empty glass. When she was asked for a refill, she said diet, right. My boyfriend never ordered diet in the first place. He ordered Tammy's country breakfast. It was supposed to have cheese on the scrambled eggs. There was no cheese. The toast came out plain. No butter. No butter was brought to spread on it. He had to go up to the counter and get jam for his toast. The salad I ordered looked like a child's portion. We had been there once before and the waitress was a young pregnant girl. She was friendly and attentive. She knew how to refill a drink or to even ask if everything was ok. If the jams and jellies aren't already on the table, it shouldn't be a free for all at the counter. Very disappointing.
The whole staff was less than friendly. There were no smiling faces or "welcome to Tammy's", "have a seat anywhere you like", "someone will be with you in a moment". They just kind of stared at us like we were aliens. I'm not sure why the place was so busy unless you are treated like family if you're a regular. Maybe we came on a bad day. If their goal is to deter new folks from frequenting their establishment, it's working. We drove 40 minutes to try their cousine and were treated like we had the plague. We won't make that...
Read moreWe've been pasted this place in Nelsonville many times and we've always noticed how full the carpark is.Well today we went in and had a meal there. Working on trucker's logic if the carpark is full then the food is good. Well we were certainly not disappointed I had the country style breakfast which consisted of 3 stripes of bacon, 3 fried eggs (over easy) hashbrowns 2 slices of wheat toast & a bowl of sausage gravy with a fresh homemade biscuit & a glass of milk. All the food was freshly cooked and hot when it arrived on the table, the choice of menu is great and they also have a daily special's menu. The staff are all very friendly and efficient, wandering around the restaurant checking if everything is OK. The restaurant is clean and spacious and well layed out.
To sum up Tammy's Country Kitchen is a great place to eat and you certainly get a great bang for your hard earned buck! So if you're in Nelsonville forget Burger King and the other fast food restaurants and head to Tammy's and get a freshly prepared meal for about the same price as a burger. So whenever you're travelling along RT 33 in either direction when you see the sign for Nelsonville & Butchel follow the route to Nelsonville andwhen you get to the Stoplight turn left and you'll see Tammy's Country Kitchen on the right it's...
Read moreAfter reading the reviews, it seems my experience has happened to multiple people And it’s hard to believe this place has 4.5 stars with the way my family and I were treated. I have worked food service since I was 16 years old and NEVER have I ever been told it’s okay to tell a patron we can’t make food because of closing times. If you’re not serving customers then you should adjust your closing time to 6:30 instead of 7:00. When we walked in the door, I could hear huffing and puffing about us being there. We weren’t greeted by anyone at all. We were told they could only make certain foods so we had no choice but to leave. Transparency is important, had they been honest and said they didn’t want to cook because they were about to close then I would’ve given this place a second chance but now I will take my money elsewhere. We didn’t know they were about to close and they treated us like we were a lesser than species...
