Our newest find (thanks to our friends Teri and Jimmy who already were coming here). We adore this place, cannot believe we never knew about it, but now we do and we have been here every weekend since! The best description is it is an old school local Italian joint...That means they share the love in every way you can imagine. Now we love eating at the bar and meeting everyone, getting to know the bartender, getting recommendation's about the menu etc. We have made it our mission to work through the menu one dish at a time! I have to say we have been doing a great job as we have tried multiple dishes over the last 4 visits so far. The extra virgin olive oil made into their house dipping oil with their herbs etc is off the charts with the hot fresh bread they serve. There is always a specials list which makes it even harder to choose what to order. They offer some homemade pastas one of which is their homemade raviolis...YUM... we have had their 1/2 order and full order of these. Love that they offer some dishes as a half order or full so you can have a little of this and that! We have definitely gone this route a few times because we love a fabulous leftover later in the night at home. Plus you gotta leave room for their dessert! Fave so far is the chocolate mousse cake! We have had pastas, chicken, fish, steak and veal dishes so far. Enjoyed each and every one. We saw someone have the pizza last week and boy did that look great so maybe next visit. Listen, the food is delicious, the service is phenomenal, the bartenders just terrific, service with a big smile, make a great cocktail and make you feel very welcome. The owner Steve is always here checking in on everyone's happiness from start to finish. It is simply a home away from home atmosphere, very fair prices on everything including the drinks (try to find that anywhere else down the shore!) Again we love the staff, shout out to Chrissy who we met our very first time here and she has worked most nights we have been back so far. We have also had a gentleman behind the bar but my apologies I did not get his name but I will and add to our review in the future. He is also top shelf! The basics, TRY IT, you will LOVE IT. You will become a regular like we are becoming... Our thanks for the memorable meals, date nights and laughs. ...

We had low expectations for Il Posto, unfortunately they failed to exceed them.

The waiter was NOT charismatic, and did not ask for refills or check on us. We had to get another waiter to get what we wanted (Condiments and all) and the service was extremely slow. (Took the waiter approximately 10 minutes to bring out a big bottle of water.)

Our orders were taken rather swiftly but we were smacked in the face with a hour and a half wait. Now you have starving, grumpy, and impatient clients sitting around. As we looked around we saw others that were grumpy.

The place was poorly lit, and the atmosphere was quite bland and boring. There was no music playing, so you were forced to listen to the loud chatter.

The prices were bizarre, 25 dollars for a piece of meat that was decently cooked....RIP OFF. We came in with a group of a 7 and only two of us thought our meals were delicious. The food was bland, the pizza tasted like flatbread with nothing on it, the spaghetti and meatballs tasted like bland bread with horrible meat on it, I can go on and on but you get the idea.

Il Posto has really disappointed us and...

I love the New moms kitchen IlPosto however on mothers day it was not the same. I do not know if it was cuz of the crowd but it was different and disappointing. My family and i go there twice a month. We went for mothers day and not only was it crowded which is fine but we wait for 40 minutes for our entrees. The waitress was not that polite..And that was shocking cuz their waitresses are usually awesome. She was older and had an attitude as if she just wanted to get it over with and move on to the next table. I got the Veal Pomodoro which was horrible. Ground Veal in a homemade crepe and baked. YUCK! Never again...It was basically ground meat in a soggy wrap in a scolding hot dish which she didnt tell me it was scolding hot and i got a blister on my finger baked with watery sauced and slices of Mozz on top..no garnish no seasoning Nothing....even the hostess that day had an attitude as if she couldnt wait for it to be over....the bathroom was not upkeeped at all..next holiday they need to think it...

I have been coming to Il Posto for years, it truly is a hidden gem. It is a local spot, with plenty of seating in either booths, tables, high tops, or the bar. I brought my friend from Virginia who was visiting and she said it was the best margarita pie she has ever had. They serve hearty portions for their chicken dishes. My family usually orders the Chicken Murphy or Chicken Parm. They also love their salmon. I usually order something from their specials menu, which is constantly rotating. I love their homemade ravioli, especially when it’s made with vodka sauce as a special. My friend ordered the Cavatelli and Broccoli Rabe based on our waiters recommendation and said it was the best she’s ever had. Their drinks are also very fairly priced and made to perfection. I usually order the CEO, their dirty martini made with blue cheese olives, the lemon drop martini, or the aperol spritz.

Just ate there yesterday, sat at the bar, very nice service from the bar tender, my buddy and I got the garlic parm wings, and margarita pizza to share, he got the rigatoni Bolognese and I got the cheese stuffed tortellini with pancetta and peas. The wings were delicious! The pizza was recommended by the bartender and we loved it. The tortellini was my favorite out of everything though, I highly recommend this dish! My friend enjoyed his Bolognese as well. Midway through our meal, they started to play live music, which was very nice to hear. I took some pictures of our partially eating meals before finishing them lol! They were all so good! 🤤

Here's the corrected version: I almost don’t want to give up this absolute gem of an old school Bronx-style Italian place. It's hidden from the Bradley Beach tourists, and you can see it from the active bar scene, which is filled with regulars. I wish Google had an option for rating 'overall validity' because Posto hits the mark. The kitchen loves fresh garlic, so if you’re not a garlic fan, let them know beforehand.
