Where do I begin? I was so excited to get this meal as I've been craving it for a month now and it was my last big meal before starting my diet tomorrow so it was supposed to be extra special. I got the Bigfoot and I don't believe it was the Bigfoot. I think it was the regular size one, its my “go to” order every time. I ordered hashbrowns and got Redskin potatoes. I ordered scrambled eggs and got 2 VERY runny sunny side eggs. On my other order for dinner, I was suposed to have pancakes, bacon and scrambled eggs, which i got, but the scrambled eggs were way overcooked and rubbery. They were even browned on one side. I ordered toast and I understand toast doesn't travel great, but it was so dry. When I put it in the toaster to warm it up it was unedible. It was like cardboard. I only got one butter for four pieces of toast. I have had this meal delivered before and it was wonderful anything and everything that could've gone wrong with this order did and was literally $50 in the garbage. All I ate was the meat and then for dinner I'm having the two pancakes and bacon. Gonna On top of all this, the store won’t answer th phone. I tried 8 times within a few hours. I just get an answering machine. I wrote a review on DoorDash as well, but I know it’s not their fault.
UPDATE: this restaurant used to be my favorite and my whole experience, dealing with the corporation now trying to either get a refund or something from them regarding my experience has soured me from this company. I found out my order was delivered from the S. Las Vegas Blvd. location. Don’t confuse them with Henderson. They are nothing but awesome, however, I have been trying to jump through hoops for three weeks now with this location, as well as corporate and the way they are treating me, ignoring me and blowing me off is not a way to run a business. I have wasted so much time and energy on this situation and it is something that I didn’t do wrong. Believe me if it was a $15 meal or something I’d let it go but this was about $50. It breaks my heart that I love this place so much And they can’t even rectify a situation which they made the mistake on this used to be our go to for a birthday breakfastest and Sundays. I even bought a mug from them and told everyone about them. Well, let’s just say I’m telling everyone about them now but in a negative way. Hopefully one of the few people I talk to will finally get back to me with some answers and no I am not contacting GrubHub because they did nothing wrong. I feel like it’s your job to get money from them back because you screwed up there is no need for me to use extra time and energy to contact them and rectify the situation. This is dragged out long...
Read moreOne of the best breakfasts in Las Vegas! Obviously it depends on your taste, but for my money, this place is the best. I'll be coming back every time I come here. Which seems silly, I know, because there's a Black Bear where I live. Let me just say this: I have pretty varied taste in food. I love to try new things. I like the fancy places, the high end dishes and ingredients, and the whole experience. On my recent week-long Las Vegas trip, I did a lot of that. My daughter and I spent 350 on a fantastic dinner. We had breakfast at one of the big Strip buffets, some smaller, trendy places in some of the bigger casinos, and one or two little breakfast bakery- type spots. But on a day we went on a scenic drive with a picnic planned, we did breakfast here at Black Bear on South Las Vegas Blvd.
Far and away, Black Bear was my most satisfying breakfast experience of the trip. My daughter loved her pancake and stole my bacon. Everything I ordered was great, too. But the biggest compliment I can give them is this: I ordered over medium eggs, and they gave me over medium eggs. In 15 years of ordering over medium eggs at diners and other breakfast spots, I promise you this is not the norm. Fewer than 2% of the time do you actually get over medium when you order it. But it you want a fried egg, it's the safest bet. Diner cooks are generally rushing, so if you order over easy, the whites will not be set. And that's gross. If you order over hard, they will generally put them on the grill and then forget about them for a while, and you'll get tasteless shoe leather. But, if you order over medium, 8 times out of 10 you will get a decent over easy egg (because again, cook is generally in a rush). 1.8 times you will get a decent over hard egg.
But that 1 or 2 times out of 100 where the cook knows what he's doing, you get a delightfully golden, barely-beginning-to-set jammy yolk, with whites that are just beginning to get crispy around the edges. It's magical when it happens.
Again, perfect start to a great day....
Read moreMy husband and I have been dining at Black Bear Diner since 2016 in the Las Vegas/Henderson area and have always found it a very wonderful place to introduce friends and family members who are coming from out of town. We've been going mainly for breakfast on the weekends as our son loves the confetti pancakes on the children's menu.
We decided to visit the Las Vegas Blvd location on Tuesday 3/25/25 for dinner around 6pm and the restaurant was very quiet. Our hostess was very friendly and sat us at a large table near the window to accommodate our party of 4. From here, I have to say our experience continued to go downhill. My husband ordered the Santa Maria Tri tip diner, I ordered the chicken sausage scramble with whole eggs instead of egg whites, and the confetti pancake for our son.
Our server seemed very thrown and baffled by our breakfast order as maybe she did not receive them too often. Other than my request for whole eggs instead of egg whites, I did not make any other modifications on the Chicken Sausage Scramble. When our orders arrived, my scramble was missing the avocado and they gave me hash browns instead of fruit. My husband's Santa Maria tri tip dinner also arrived but came with 4 thin slices of meat, that I'm sure was nowhere near the advertised 10 oz. Our server came and checked on our food, I let the avocado slide but requested for the fruit instead of the hash browns. As I was making my way through the scramble, there was a piece of tin foil embedded into the dish. I brought it to our server's attention and she asked if I wanted anything else. To be honest, my appetite had diminished with our increasingly frustrating experience so I said no I was fine.
The overall visit left a really negative impression for both my husband and I that we are incredibly reluctant to return in the future to any...
