Confused and saddened by my family’s experience here - I came for my birthday and was treated absolutely subpar.
Food: My crispy brussel sprouts were visibly overcooked. Everyone at my table agreed they were near inedible. My boyfriends ultimate hamachi roll was too fishy. You know when a fish doesn’t taste fresh and has that unpleasant fishiness about it? The agedashi tofu and screaming orgasm were mid.
Service: Aura was off from the moment we got there. The first server handed us off to another and then she got snappy about holding a hot bowl and waiting more than 15 seconds for us to tell her where to set it down. She then forgot about and did not apologize for the 2nd lava cake my sister ordered. My sister was very clear about wanting 2 lava cakes total. Then even though she was told it was my birthday, she took absolutely nothing off the bill.
I saw the way she friendly with the other tables which is so disheartening because I did feel profiled as we are filipino. I understand sometimes our people aren’t the best tippers, but every time my family tips anything below 20%, I always lay down cash to make up for the difference. I did not do that this time because we felt unwelcomed from start to finish. My white boyfriend brought up the terrible service on his own unprovoked right when we stepped out of the restaurant, and he would know because he’s been a server for 12 years. It’s so confusing because everyone at my table was being so sweet and patient to our server the whole time. Usually, idc about service quality if the food slaps, but this place...
Read moreAmazing service - truly a 5-star experience! PLEASE NOTE: Uber Eats will allow you to place an order from Bluebei but the establishment is no longer affiliated with Uber Eats. I placed an order through Uber Eats at 5pm for a 6:30pm delivery and received a "scheduled" status on the app. At 6pm, the order status hadn't changed so I called Bluebei to see if they had received my order; this is when I was told they no longer worked with Uber Eats. A few minutes later, I received a "cancelled" notification (see pic) from Uber Eats.
The young lady that took my call apologized for the confusion and took my order over the phone. I know the restaurant was busy because it was Friday night but she was super pleasant and didn't make me feel like I was bothering her. I was told my order would be ready in 30 minutes.
When I showed up at 6:30, I was greeted by another friendly person. My order was ready to go and I was in/out in two minutes. When I got home, I saw how perfectly everything was packaged and it felt great to see a place that took pride in their work/product.
I've lived in Mountains Edge for ten years and knew when Bluebei first opened; a coworker even highly recommended it. I now regret not having been a regular sooner because everything was absolutely excellent. FANTASTIC...
Read moreIt was alright. Not mind-blowing, just okay. The service and staff were friendly and helpful but the food was a bit salty on the house rolls and the rest of the stuff we ordered, like the ramen and yakisoba really left us wanting in the flavor department. It was all pretty bland. Plus, there was way too much imitation crab in the rolls. It all needed a bit more flavor too, or something. It's good enough for a sushi craving but not showstopping. I want to try other house rolls if I go again, but it's not the best sushi I've ever had, just alright. The house salad and ginger dressing was amazing, I have to say. I do wish they had some specials on the specialty rolls, they were pretty expensive. Love the aesthetics of the place, it's clean has roomy booths, and smells new, plus the servers were attentive and nice but the food just needed a bit more oomph or spice, not sure. I'm totally willing to give it another go in the future to see if they have rolled out the kinks, I was so thrilled to see a new sushi place in Mountain's Edge but a bit disappointed with the food. I love to support local places so I will try it again...
