Don Tortaco Mexican Grill 02 — Restaurant in Nevada

Unfortunately, I have to leave this review because it’s become clear that something needs to be brought to management’s attention regarding this Don Tortaco location.

I come here every so often—maybe once every couple of weeks—not quite a regular, but enough to notice patterns. And almost every time I visit, there’s some kind of issue going on.

The first time I came, I went through the drive-thru and was told, rather bluntly, that they don’t accept Apple Pay or tap-to-pay. That was frustrating, especially since most places nowadays do.

Today, I decided to walk in and dine inside. The same gentleman who had been curt during my first visit greeted me again—still with the same off-putting tone—and told me they were out of gas for the grill and were “thinking about closing.” He asked me what I was planning to order and said maybe they could still make it, but honestly, the whole situation felt like a half-step from shutting down. I ended up just going elsewhere.

I don’t know if they run their grill on propane or something else, but it’s concerning that this seems to be a recurring theme. There’s always an excuse or equipment issue. If this location is part of a franchise or chain, I strongly encourage upper management or ownership to look into how this store is being run—whether that’s keeping supplies stocked, maintaining equipment, or investing in updated payment systems like Apple Pay.

The food here can be good, but the customer experience is consistently frustrating. I want to see this place succeed, but it really needs stronger management...

Their food is straight up trash. Got the Crunchy tacos and they were just packed with wet lettuce making them all soggy and broken. Literally threw the food out. It was disgusting. Will never give this or any of their other locations my business as the quality of food in other locations was also disgusting. ABSOLUTE 0 STARS! I ordered nachos and received nothing but big chunks of half chicken and hella gaucomole I’m so upset! I called to complain she kept hanging up laughing and acting like she didn’t speak English!
