I have been a big fan of KFC my entire life and I am directly related to the Harmon Family that opened the first KFC in UT and still own a majority of the franchises. KFC was a part of nearly every family party growing up and one of the few fast food options that my family can always agree upon for dinner. Unfortunately, the quality is not always consistent from location to location and this location was not on the good side. Most of my issues with this visit start with the gravy so lets examine that. The gravy was kind of watery, too salty and the amount was completely insufficient for the amount of food ordered. As a long time customer, I remember when the amount of gravy that came with a large mashed potato order was 100% more than it is now. As if that wasn't irritating enough, apparently you only get one of these miniature size gravy's to go with two large servings of mashed potatoes and eight pieces of chicken.
Now I'm sure that the young people who work the counter have no frame of reference for what the sizes and portions used to be or how the Colonel himself used to pop in to different locations out of the blue and work with the staff for the day to make sure that his vision of service and quality were being met but I do and I don't like it when my expectations are set incorrectly. Continuing with the gravy, when I asked why I was only given one gravy to go with the order, I was told that the offer specified that only one gravy came with it. I had read the offer online and I didn't recall that being the case so I pulled it up and got a screen-grab of what it actually says. I attached the screen-grab to this review for reference. It says, "KFC’s $20 Fill Up™ has 8 pieces of Original Recipe®, Extra Crispy™, or Kentucky Grilled Chicken®, a large cole slaw, 4 biscuits and 2 large mashed potatoes and gravy". That certainly reads like you are getting adequate gravy. Those two items are generally considered to be one item, not separate so this is scammy wording.
Ultimately, the gravy was already watered down so much and supplemented with sodium that I doubt that they would be losing much if they gave people two full orders of potatoes and gravy rather than one with a side of potatoes to throw away because there's no gravy left to serve it with. As for the rest of it, the cole slaw and potatoes were fine. I never eat the biscuits and wish they still served rolls but the fact I remember when they did that probably really dates me. the chicken, unfortunately was not good either. There were some under cooked spots on it. I'm trying to figure out what is more off-putting, under-cooked chicken or raw mushy batter. It's almost a tie. Either way, I'm done with this location and if that scammy wording on the potatoes and gravy is universal then I guess I'll just est at Popeye's going forward. It's not like I'm close enough family to get an inheritance from the Harmon...
Read moreThis is hands down the worst experience I’ve ever had with a fast food chain. I placed an order 10 minutes before closing, and when I got there, no one would respond. The phone was off the hook, and the app and Google both said they were open until 11 PM. It was only 8:57 PM! After a lot of waiting, I finally got the attention of a man who looked visibly frustrated answering the drive-thru, only for him to tell me they were closed and wouldn’t make my order. I had already paid, and I wasn’t leaving without it, especially since it wasn’t even 9 PM yet.
They made me pull around to the front, and it took forever for them to bring my food out. Not only that, but they didn’t give me any of the sauces I had requested, and the whole experience was just a nightmare. The staff had terrible attitudes, and the service was beyond awful. I’m genuinely afraid to even eat this food now, since I’m worried it was mishandled. I’ll never be going back, and I’m definitely contacting corporate about this. Just a completely frustrating, disappointing experience from...
Read moreUpon ordering an 8 piece extra crispy chicken meal, I was told by an unfriendly employee that I would not be able to because the extra crispy chicken was no longer available for the day. I then told her that I would be pulling back through because I would need to ask my family what their second option would be. After pulling through for the second time, I was met with this unfriendly employee again and told them that I would like to order some famous bowls.
After pulling to the window, I gave my card to the unhappy drive through staff that happened to not close the drive through window. I then heard the (what I assume was) manager speaking with said employee regarding another order that was taken and said employee giving the wrong order to "yet another" customer.
After receiving my famous bowls and getting home, they were nothing but soup. 75% gravy for the bowl. Luckily, my meal came with a spork and not only a fork. -1/10,...
