Always a pleasure coming in to a place the bartender loudly greats me by name and most of the bar responds likewise. I've been there enough to know it isn't staged, that the welcome is genuine, and mostly driven by the fella I see the most tending bar. Brian.
It's the old Village Inn on west side of Ft Apache just south of Hacienda. They still have a remnant of the menu. I remember the fish and chips VI served. Yorky's still serve it up and it's delicious. It's whole cod, not some breaded fish stick, thick wedge fries, and house made tarter. I've also had the ribs a few times. Not bad bbq for a joint not really advertising it.
They feature some special ales from time to time, I'm not familiar which as I'm a regular of a single brand in bottle. Brian will tell you all about it.
Finally, they have a video poker tournament 2nd Saturday of each month for winners of tickets between tournaments. You can win tickets by hitting certain hands like 4 to the royal flush, 4 of a kind, straight flushes, or high hand of the hour contests. They have a free buffet with a changing menu- we had lasagna in November and the chef Steve did an amazing job of it!

Walked in, not greeted, bar tender was gossiping with another patron. I felt like I was bothering her. Asked for ID, which is fine because I am 33 and spouse is 40. I have old Nevada ID, my spouse has new one, he is visibly over 21 with Grey hair. The Bartender she winced and said she will be right back, made us feel like we were children using a fake ID, my spouse was upset and I asked for our ID back and left. We will spend our money at the Lodge.

This Village Pub I visited I had to ask myself if it was a Village Pub and that I recognize that if it was the first time I had been to one I probably wouldn't want to come back. The customer relations are very poor. This place had no personality and wanted make the people playing the poker machines pay for their drinks or it was $20 dollars each comp for playing so if you put in a $100 you would get 5 very small...
