8th Street Pizza — Restaurant in New Albany

We always like finding small pizza shops, after reading the reviews we decided this was the place to try.

Kudos to this business for having water down for animals who may be walking by.

Entering the business the staff behind the counter was cheerful, and interacted automatically. We sat ourselves as the place was small.

The place was clean on the tables but other areas of the seating area was dusty.

The menu boasts about reducing their carbon footprint by using recycled products but yet doesn’t have a designated area to recycle glass or even the cardboard boxes.

To reduce their carbon footprint with patrons eating indoors i think they should use reusable pans. Using covid as an excuse shouldn’t come up. Soap and water works!

We ordered;

All Meat - For the meat lover in the family, ham, bacon, pepperoni, beef, sausage, & loads of cheese. $15/$18 Veggie - NYC style Veggie includes onions, green peppers,mushrooms, green olives, & loads of cheese. $14/$18

When it arrived the “loads of cheese” was lacking and the toppings were not as appealing as one would expect. Dainty would be more like it or cheap. I thought based on photos from others we’d see chunks of meats on the meat pizza. Same with the green peppers and onion. You couldn’t tell it had those toppings.

The crust was tough slices wasn’t easy to tear apart, the toppings well off the slices, and the flavor was mediocre. Was hoping for something great but sadly it’s a normal run of the mill average shop.

Bathrooms were clean…

One other thing is they were using the front counter designated for seating but instead it was being used for storage.

Worst experience ever. I had a 45 minute wait for 1 pizza and 5 breadsticks I was picking up curbside. I got there almost 8:00 bcbtheee is no where to park for curbside pick up (15 minutes later then I should have been there), called and called to let them know I was there for my pick up but no one ever answered. So I had to go in and was told I had at least another 25 minute wait. 3 of the 4 employees worked on the same pizza and one at a time. They also only made 10 breadsticks at a time on a pan that could hold double. I saw what looked like my pizza at one point but didn't think too much of it bc there were 5 other people waiting in front of me. Within this time 2 people walked in with what I assume we're online orders, like mine, and walked right out. I kept watching that pizza get buried with the boxes of bread stick orders the lady was making and after a total of 38 minutes of waiting that pizza was finally unburied as she was finally making the breadsticks that belonged to my order. So 1/2 my order sat there bc the lady didnt get to my "assigned" bread sticks when all she had to do was give me one of the boxes that she made that we're sitting there. Was a huge fan of their pizza but the headache is...

Highly recommend giving this place a try: We ordered today April 16, 2022 around 230pm for our first time from here and are absolutely pleased! We had coupon on Facebook Messenger to buy a specialty pizza and get 12 inch deluxe free and they will substitute Main sauce on pizzas which is awesomeness. Then we also ordered garlic bread sticks and a ceaser salad. We live literally just down the road from the shop did not realize how close til we had placed our order. Customer Service was on point even while they were cycle out on their breaks. Cleanliness of store itself was amazing. A little storage issue in front of store near entrance area but nothing too unsightly and could be fixed with an enclosed shelf towards dining area. After getting our order home and taste everything New York style type pizza, we are absolutely amazed we did not know about the store sooner and will definitely be planning many more visits to the store for our future needs.
