Restaurante Algarve — Restaurant in New Bedford

giving the food and restaurant itself 5 stars. i have been coming to algarve for years since i was a child couldn’t complain besides the fact that my server on the other hand, gets 2 stars. I believe her name was Dina , terrible service. I brought my fiancé there to try portuguese food for the first time. he loved it. I spoke portuguese to accommodate to the others serving me. she declined the fact that I spoke portuguese and would only allow me to speak english. she took our order gave us our drinks then vanished. I seen her serving others but nothing toward us. lucking we had a very nice lady come and help us out. I am not sure her name but she has glasses and has light brown hair ( a total sweet heart) she made my fiancés experience worth it. i’ve gone back multiple times but Dina hasn’t changed a bit toward me. other than that food is always outstanding. hopefully Dina gets more training on...

Worst first impressions of a restaurant. Right from the start everything was a disappointment. We have high hopes considering all of the positive reviews, and it failed to meet them even in the slightest.

For starters it took 15 minutes for the waitress to take our drink order. There is no kids menu at all. Bread was stale. The prices are high end for sure, and sub par food. My husband ordered the Azorean steak well done and it came out medium. Rice was unflavored. The fries were horrible l. I ordered the stuff salmon and I can't even tell you how it was because my plate never came out. After 25 minutes after my husband received his plate I told the waitress I no longer wanted my meal and to kindly take it off the bill. She apologized sincerely and it's not her fault I understand. Someone in the kitchen failed and now I have written off Algarve as a one and DONE. Never again....

The food is a hit or miss. Some times its the best around and other days it could be so much better. Last time we were there it was Mother's day. We ended up spending just about 3 hours there. Mostly waiting. The food was good but not for my whole party. We would like to see them step up a little more and actually have their waitresses pay attention to what people are ordering and requesting. Also the bill was over charged. We had 11 people with us 5 of them which were children. No way did we spend what we did when they came around with the check. But we said nothing and paid it. Which sucks but we honestly wanted to just get out of there. Like i said 3 hours there i was ready to go. I had my 1yr old with me and being 9 months pregnant I wasnt trying to sit...
