West End Grill — Restaurant in New Bedford

This place is a joke! It used to be good about a year or so ago, but now the family just doesn't care. The food is sub-par. Breakfast is always bland, and I wouldn't really suggest ordering anything else. I ordered fried clams once, and I was sick for days. One of my co-workers ordered a salad for lunch from there, and that was horrible too. Brown lettuce-yuck! If that wasn't bad enough, I was in there about 2 weeks ago and I actually heard the owner's daughter be rude to a small child. The child asked for ice cream, to which the daughter responded "go outside and lick the snow." If that was my child, I would have flipped out on her! Then, I tried to order something to go. The same daughter went in the back after I ordered, so I assumed she placed my order. After waiting about 10-15 minutes with her ignoring me as I stood at the cash register to pay, I just walked out. It's a good thing they're selling this place. Hopefully the new owners will actually care about the food...

My wife and son and I stopped by at random today on our way home from Cape Cod. We are from the Midwest. We love the classic diner experience for breakfast. I ordered the BIG BOY - another classic.

The gentleman who helped us was probably the owner. Clean shaven guy who clearly took pride in the diner and all things Red Sox! He greeted us warmly and provided excellent service with nicely executed food cooked to order.

I was delighted by the sourdough toast option and would recommend the pancakes. Not too thick or too thin served with warmed maple syrup.

I always give second chances we are not all perfect. Order 1 never came with the right ingredients only lettuce on the wrap no dressing. Second order today....all I am going to say is really a chicken patty for 10.00 buy chicken bread it and fry I was in shock I gave to my coworker and ordered from another place for a real chicken sandwich. You need to put that as chicken patty from the supermarket sandwich. Tomatoes looked dead and mayo was almost no existent. Thank God it was bogo because if I paid 20.00$ for that it would be going right back. Sorry for the bad review but that was crazy and the cool needs to get it together what's listed is...
