Tatsu Japan — Restaurant in New Braunfels

Tatsu - The name of a Japanese dragon or to stand up or get up. That sums it up. You need to get up and get some of their delicious food.

Unfortunately, I was too hungry and enamored with how good the food was to take a picture to share with all of you. My son and I got lunch here today on a whim hoping for something good and they delivered. We started with the takoyaki, which was crunchy on the outside, creamy on the inside and each had a little piece of octopus to mix the texture up even more. They were great. Then, we each had a bento box, my son got the teriyaki beef and I ordered the teriyaki unagi (eel). Both were outstanding. The unagi was the best I have ever had. The portions were befitting the price tag they came with and that was another pleasant part of the visit. We both ate till we couldn't and took some home as leftovers.

I am a professional Chauffeur for a local New Braunfels family and after dropping off at Whitewater Amphitheater was hungry. After looking at the local fare near the venue and Tatsu Japan popped up.I was perusing the reviews and I thought, let's try it. First off there was so much sodium in everything I was unable to eat it. Even the veggies were just oil and salt but after spending over 25.00 i choked the veggies down the rest was just an amalgam of goo tossed non strategically in a to go clam shell. Ok,so the crab rangoon was good but how hard is that to fry a wonton. I never do this review thing but this is how i picked this place and the truth must be told. Let me start by saying FOODTRUCK is why it took me some time before I ordered, but what a mistake. I am not sure there are words in English to completely allow me to articulate the level of happiness their food brought me and my family. I will start with rice. I do not often eat rice, but their rice is without questions the perfect consistency. I have no idea what they did to it but simply wow. We ordered steak chicken and shrimp. Each portion was huge, and the taste was out of this world. The food truck is only a shell of what is truly taking place behind the scenes.
