Sweeties Donuts Sattler — Restaurant in New Braunfels

First time eating there, I got a large sausage gravy & biscuits could not believe they use the same instant powdered gravy mix as stripes convenience stores, & same pre-made frozen biscuits & There was MAYBE 1 Tablespoon of sausage in the gravy & that's not exaggerating it was nasty. I took 2 bites, & only because I put salt & pepper on it to see if it helped but it didn't so I offered it to my dog & he sniffed it, backed away from it & gave me a strange look I set it down next to his bowl & left it for 2 hours & he never even took 1 bite of it. He's a big boy when people ask me what kind of pit he is I always tell them bottomless because he eats all the time, he eats everything! He even eats ketchup...plain ketchup lol. Definitely do not...

Let me tell you, folks, coming here was an arctic adventure. Not because it's Antarctica themed (although that would be a twist), but because the service and the donuts were colder than a witch's kiss.

The lady behind the counter could have been a contestant in the Siberian Stare-Down Championships. One smile from her and I swear the glaciers would have started advancing again.

Now, about those donuts. Imagine a hockey puck that decided to take up baking. They were denser than a financial report and about as appealing. Biting into one was like trying to gnaw through a frozen tire.

On the bright side, if you need a paperweight or emergency hockey substitute, this is your place. Otherwise, maybe pack a thermos and a good joke to...

We have been having coffee and baked goods at this location for a few years and have been content. Nothing gourmet but certainly adequate. This morning my coffee was poured from the very bottom of the pot. It was acidic and bitter. When I asked the waitress if she could replace it she said I would have to pay for a second time. I had only consumed two sips and the cup was still full. My husband ordered a fritter and it was stale: he threw away most of it, which is very rare for him. Not sure what was going on but this is not the Sweetie’s we are used to. Very disappointing. Rude staff, bad coffee, stale food..not a good...
