Frisbie's Dairy Barn — Restaurant in New Britain

Quality and customer service has significantly decreased over the past 2 years. Last summer I came in and the shop was filthy beyond belief. Unsanitary and gross. Lids off the ice cream containers, scattered everywhere. Melting ice cream and scoops laid on countertops. Ice cream containers placed on the countertop instead of a cold refrigerated area! That day, I purchased a waffle cone and there was such a tiny scoop of ice cream that it sunk into the cone and I had to eat the cone around to get to the ice cream. Yesterday, I went in and received a completely melted ice cream cup for $7. Still was asked to leave a tip. Unbelievable. What has happened to this place? We used to go almost weekly because we couldn't resist the amazing taste and service! Please hire staff who care about their jobs and want to provide excellence for the customers! These people...

Good ice cream and lots of options. Esp vegan flavors. Got my husband the blue Cookie Monster cake for his birthday and it was a hit.

Docking a star because I got a small ice cream there yesterday and it was the smallest scoop ever in the small cup. There was so much empty space in the cup. I thought maybe since it was one scoop it was supposed to be that small. and then I saw the medium and they fill the medium cup so idk what happened but then they charged nearly 6 dollars for this tiny scoop. The small cup is a reasonable small but like it was offensive to leave that much open space like it rolled around in the cup!!! $6?? In this economy? I could go next door to the gas station and get a pint of Ben and Jerry’s for less!!!

I live very close yet have only been there 3 times. Have yet to find something i'm gah-gah over for the price they charge! My son ordered a soft serve but the machine was down....again 😒. I ordered a small cone....it definitely lives up to its size (scoops are extremely small). The gentleman that was scooping my ice cream was only wearing 1 glove and was holding the scooper with the "glove hand" and was holding on to my cone (which had no wrapper on it) with his bare hand and proceeds to hand it to me. I didn't say anything because I believe the owner of the place was standing next to him and I didn't want to get him in trouble. Needless to say I didn't eat my cone (which is my favorite part). Eehh....I think I'm all set. Pralines isn't...
