I have mixed feelings about this place. I went here with 3 friends on a Friday night, and we got a table immediately. We ordered a few appetizers, then ordered one of the combos to be shared between the 4 of us. The combo, which includes 2 big platters of raw meat and about 12 side dishes and 3 side sauces, came out within 5 minutes. So, before we even got the appetizers, we were trying to figure out how to fit 17 different dishes on the table without knocking anything over. We were starting to cook the meat on the table's grill, still organizing the items on the table, when they brought our FOUR appetizers out. At this point, our table is so packed with dishes that we have to put some of it on the top of the booth divider. I started to eat as fast as I could because I didn't know WHERE we were going to fit anything else. This is all just straight up WAY too much, WAY too fast, and in the WRONG order!
Another problem with this style of cooking/eating is that the raw meat sits right next to all of the cooked ingredients, so if you are not careful, you could cross-contaminate the food that is already safe to eat. I understand this is probably a traditional element of Korean BBQ, but as someone who has studied food safety, this is an unacceptable risk that many people may not be aware of.
My friend also complained that the server brought us the check before we asked for it and while we were still eating. I don't personally care about this kind of thing at all, but he was upset about it, and I guess some other people might be as well.
With all that being said, ALL the food here was absolutely delicious and incredible! I will certainly return to eat here again if I'm in town. I'm sure some other people may appreciate their fast service, but I don't like going to dine out and feeling as if I have to eat all my food like Goku in DBZ.
Also, if you go here, I recommend not wearing any nice clothes that you really care about, since you have a good chance of getting stains on them while you cook on your...
Read moreMy husband and I visited Seoul BBQ yesterday for dinner and I can say it was an interesting and enjoyable experience! We had never had Korean food before, but it was always something I was eager to try. The location obviously favors the in table BBQ option, but they do have an entree menu with classic Korean dishes. We ordered the Gun Mandu dumplings and the garlic soy Korean Fried Chicken wings. I loved the chicken wings and loved the sauce flavor we chose! I would definitely order those again, or maybe try the "original" version. The Gun Mandu was good, and the fried dough texture was amazing, but I didn't personally enjoy the filling as much as I had hoped I would. They do puff up a whole lot in the frying process as well. For our entrees, I ordered the Dolpan Bibimbap with Bulgolgi and my husband tried the Bibim Naeng-Myun cold noodles. If I recommended any one thing from this restaurant, it would easily be the bibimbap. It's delicious and the hot pan experience really enhances the overall dish. The Bibim Naeng-Myun is a very different dish, and a unique experience that I haven't had with any other type of cuisine before. The dish is very spicy and the cold noodle broth wasn't my favorite, but it wasn't bad at all. It's worth a try if you are a bit more adventurous or have tried a cold noodle soup type dish before. If you are in the area and either enjoy Korean food or want to try something new and interesting, give this placed a try! If we are ever in the area we might...
Read moreOne of the worst service I've ever had in my entire life. This place doesn't even deserve one star. Came alone to treat myself for lunch before shopping. The hostess seated me quickly and with a nice greeting and smile. First, the table was FILTHY! I had to clean it myself. BUT my server was very amateurish was far from welcoming! She brought me my water and then asked what I wanted for lunch. When I said I don’t have a menu, she pointed across the table and said “You have to scan that bar code for the menu.” Thank god I knew what I wanted. [But the corker was, I looked to the gentleman to my right and he was given a menu – but it was by another server] I also asked for a cup or pot of hot water and she abruptly said “We don’t have hot water?” [REALLY ! ? ! ] I was surprised and said “Then how do you make the hot tea?” She responded that “We have an automatic machine that makes the hot tea.” [REALLY ! ? ! ]
Anyway, I finally ordered and when it came, she placed all the dishes nicely on the table and walked away. Not even asking “Will there be anything else?” or acknowledging me with a nod. She never returned to my table the entire time I ate my lunch to see how the food was, ask if I needed more water or sides – and I even had to flag her down for the check. The food was fine, but overpriced for the quality and atmosphere. Bottom line, the service is what made me decide not to come back ever again. Time for “attitude...
