Azteca Luncheonette — Restaurant in New Brunswick

I rarely do reviews, but at this point I’m so tired of restaurants acting as if VEGETABLES are more expensive than meat! I do not eat meat so I really appreciate when organizations allow me to swap meat selections with veggies. I have been here a few times and enjoy their food! However, these past couple of times I’ve been—they have been very unreasonable. I usually get a breakfast combo which comes with French toast & pancakes (I usually get all FT), 2 eggs your style, BACON, HAM & SAUSAGE. Again, I don’t eat meat so I requested sautéed veggies with shredded hash browns in place of the 3 meat options. Now anyone with some sense knows shredded hash browns are VERY cheap, you can get an entire bag less than $2 at the grocery store. Peppers, onion, mushroom all very cheap as well. So instead of the bacon, ham & sausage (3 meat options) I asked if I can have a small amount of shredded hash browns with sautéed veggies. One lady kept saying no and that I can only swap out the 3 meat options with either potatoes or veggies. I think that is insane because the meat cost more!! I’m saving the company money by not getting any meat and I can’t even get a little veggies and a small pile of shredded potatoes with my eggs? I don’t think it is fare— because I don’t eat meat, I get less food for the same price? Smh it’s ok tho , that’s the last time they’ll...

Me and my partner tried to get a decent meal at this establishment and unfortunately we didn't get the 4.7 star rating treatment. I won't say it was our race or anything but when arrived one female just barely looked my way...possible language barrier....another friendly lady greeted us and we were told to grab a seat and that she would be with us shortly. We were served a delightful chicken soup and our order was taken. We ordered a basic waffle breakfast with eggs and bacon and cucumber lime drinks. After about 30 minutes of waiting nothing. There were atleast 4 tables eating their meals and all had left in the time frame. We decided to pay for our untouched drinks and leave. Im not sure why we were treated this way but we won't be back.
