Lee's Famous Recipe Chicken — Restaurant in New Carlisle

Ordered Lees Catering for my daughter’s wedding and the first negative about the online ordering/catering is they use a delivery service so about a week before the wedding we wanted to change the time to have it delivered about an hour later than we had scheduled but was told we would have to cancel the whole $1100 order to move the time so we bought warmers and left the time the same then about an hour before the food was supposed to be there we get a notification that the order was cancelled, a wedding venue full of people and told food will not be delivered had to call in the middle of my daughters wedding to get it fixed then food comes and we were missing a whole gallon side of macaroni. Instead of the individual 25 piece chicken strips we ordered they put hundreds in a huge cardboard box the chicken was so greasy and soggy from being stacked in a box. Was very disappointing to say the least. Will never order the catering from them or the olo delivery they use and a very accommodating tip was left with the order. In November 2024 my husband and I were both getting over COVID and because of this we could not visit our family for Thanksgiving so we decided to get Lee's to celebrate together. I ran into this store to order and ordered quite a bit of food as we wanted some leftovers for the coming days as we continued to get better. The man who ordered after I did wanted dark meat but was told there would be a wait as my order had taken up the last bit of dark meat; the manager, Keri, who was working the front of the store immediately gave him a discount and apologized for him having to wait but made sure another batch of dark meat was dropped into the friers for him. I was absolutely amazed as someone who works in customer service it can be really hard to find someone who truly cares for customers these days. I’ve been going to this location in New Carlisle for many years and I’ve told myself time and time again these past few times that maybe this time the food will be like it use to be, maybe each time I’ve gone they just finished a rush or maybe I was just unlucky. However, I’ve come to the conclusion that this store is just horribly managed and the “famous” recipe is a joke to them.

Let me present to you my buckeye box meal, which is suppose to be 4 piece breast strips and a side item. I am unable to eat the chicken because it was stiff as a board and when I tore it apart to look for even a little bit of chicken under the breading, I was greeted by nothing but gristle and tendon.

Bottom line is I’ve left feedback with the stores website to inform them of this terrible food and now on here to warn all of you against trying this food. Instead I would recommend if you want some famous recipe chicken to go have some KFC, the real...
