Blue River Taphouse — Restaurant in New Castle

Stopped in for a late lunch. I finally got up the nerve to try the Nashville Dog, after having a beer. Jesse fixed the hot dog and had it to me in a short time. I've always loved spicy, hot food so I was looking forward to trying this concoction. I cut off a small amount with bread and hot dog and took a bite. I was expecting some heat, but there wasn't any. I cut off another bite, this time with some sauce and apparently the devil dust. Shortly after I ate it, my mouth was on fire. This was the hottest thing I had every tasted! Beer, of course, didn't help, so I got up to go over to the popcorn machine. Jesse then told me that they hadn't gotten any popcorn in, so no relief there. I finally asked him for a bun so that I could get some relief, which he was nice enough to give me. The pain subsided after a couple of minutes. Needless to say, I didn't finish the dog and took the rest of it home. I will definitely be taking much smaller bites in hope of finishing it. If you are going to try it, I highly recommend taking some bread or crackers with you to make sure you are covered...

I had the chili cheese dog and a Pax Verum Pilsner today. You could tell the hot dog was made from quality meats, it had a very good flavor. The chili was good too. I told the bartender, (afternoon of Sun, 2 Mar), that the chili could have been spicier. What I meant to say was that I would like to try it spicy. He said he could make it spicy the next time I get it. If I get brave enough, maybe I'll try the Nashville Dog sometime! The Pax Verum was very smooth. I've always preferred lagers and this one is very good. While I didn't see any tv channels on the big screens, maybe someday we'll be able to watch the Colts make it to the playoffs and the Super Bowl! Hey, they've done it before! And I've been there about 4 or 5 times it's a really nice place with really awesome drinks he will try to make you whatever he can and it's good to taste different things they have different flavors of beer cider all kinds and they have a wine slush machine you just have to go there and check it out if you passed it up on broad Street you need to watch for it and go in there and visit it's a nice place to sit back and gather your thoughts not a bunch of loud rude people and they even have things set up outside where you can drink out there on the patio they both put their whole heart and...
