Back Porch Bar — Restaurant in New Castle

My husband and I were here on Aug 6, 2022. The atmosphere and service were nice, and the ladies' restroom was very clean. I even discovered a new beer. My rating is because they don't disclose on their limited menu that they air fry their food (!), and they didn't even do it properly.

We ordered onion rings and breaded cheese balls as appetizers along with our drinks, and when the food arrived it looked liked it'd been freshly poured out of the freezer bags they'd come out of. The food hadn't even been basted or sprayed with vegetable oil too keep it moist and help it cook/crisp in the air fryer. These are air fryer BASICS. I've posted a photo where you can clearly see that the breading on the cheeseballs is still completely dry. And it tasted just how it looked. The food was inedible, but if you want a nice homey atmosphere to enjoy a drink with friends, I do recommend it. Just don't order any food without asking how they prepare it, and if they say air fryer, order something else.

BTW, I don't do negative reviews, so I sat on this for a minute because I know how they can impact a business. But if I were looking for a new place to check out and had seen this review myself, I'd have appreciated...

Came for class of 2014 reunion! Never been here until now and it's beautiful! Got a huge side of some great onion rings and enjoyed the animal and porch natural feel and the service was one point friendly and gave updates for the wait....
