$45 dollars for a small pizza and a grinder. The pizza wasn’t that great. The Red Baron from Kroger is twice what this pizza was. And it’s less a quarter of the price. The grinder had next to nothing on it. So basically an overpriced cheap toasted bread. Very lacking for the price they ask.
High school kids running the place. Not an adult in sight. One of the young boys behind the counter was cursing loudly as he talked. He kept hovering over one of the young girls that worked the register. She seemed very uncomfortable with his demeanor. But with no manager in sight, there was no one there to correct this behavior. Took them about 20 minutes to make the grinders and they sat on the counter while they were making the pizza, which took them another 25 minutes or so. So the grinders were cold when they brought them to the tables. There was only one other small group of patrons there who were almost finished with their meal when I arrived. So other then them, we were the only other patrons in the restaurant for some time.
They bring your food out on cheap styrofoam plates. Which to me is an unnecessary cost cutting practice. Would be nice to have real plates to use while eating this over priced food on instead of the paper thin styrofoam plates.
There are no napkins anywhere to be seen on the customer side of the counter. They bring you one with your food. But I’ve seen truck stop toilet paper with more integrity. If you know, you know. And those are needed as you are eating this overly oiled down pizzas and sandwiches. After finishing the meal, my hands were covered in oil. I felt like I was working at the refinery. Went to the restroom to wash my hands afterwards and there were no soap in the pumps. So I watered my hands down the best I could so I could make it to the car and use the hand-wipes I keep there.
Overall, this is the type of quality you’d expect from a restaurant in New Castle. This isn’t a good thing. Definitely worth the drive to go to another city and eat.
Except for Culver’s. That’s place is a fresh breathe of air and...
Read moreThe reason for this, is one, the website is deceiving. It says, when you pull it up, whether it's Mancino's "real" menu or not, the prices and description of the food say one thing, but apparently, the 'real' website has no prices, and is not listed unless you KNOW the website. I went in to this location (New Castle) to pick it up, and for one, it was NOT the sandwich my son ordered and two, the price was $8 more than what the online menu(fake, apparently) said. When I called, the young girl informed me that the "manager", Wayne Schaffer, was NOT there, and they also did not give a receipt, nor offer one. This is very deceiving. Since it was ten minutes until closing time, my son had nothing to eat. The young 'girl' said the manager was aware of this 'other' website with prices and descriptions and can do nothing about it. If that's the case, then maybe they should, one give you a total after ordering via phone, and two, give you a receipt whether you ask for one or not. I am personally saving this sandwich my son would not eat, and taking it back in tomorrow. So for those of you who want the REAL Mancino's website, I suggest you CALL them first, because as I said this was deceiving and I was told there was nothing they can do about it. I'll be to see the 'owner' tomorrow, with the uneaten sandwich, and I want my money back. This is the worst customer service issue I have had and I work and have worked in the restaurant industry for nearly twenty years. Their customer service is terrible, as she did NOT even try and fix this issue. Terrible! The food is good, if it's what you are expecting, but otherwise, the service and the friendliness of staff...
Read moreWe have ordered from mancinos many many times and have had 50/50 split of good and bad food. First i will say that their pizza is probably the best in town, have yet to have a bad pizza from there. But every time we stray away from the pizza and get a grinder or nachos they are either super bland and dry or they are SUPER salty and stale. Tonight i got a basic chicken parm grinder, the chicken had absolutely no flavor and actually tasted like it was boiled. there was hardly any sauce on it and the bread is so blah and gross. We also got the nacho supreme...... the chips were these super salty (like more than normal) stale generic mess that u would get at the dollar store. there was so much lettuce that it should of been called a taco salad instead of nachos and the meat was just gross tasting. Kind of like it has been sitting for a long time in a fridge and then reheated. I recommend sticking to their pizzas cause u wont go wrong with them and stay away from...
