Cave a' Vin is our absolute favorite wine bistro in and around the New Haven area. The owners Tony and Linda make you feel very much at home and very welcome. My husband is a big wine fan and I would go as far as to call him an expert in wines and he just loves to chat with Tony and Linda about wine while we are there. Do NOT be intimidated, if you are not knowledgeable about wine, they will help you select the perfect wine for your preferences. We have been going to Cave a' Vin for years now and plan on continuing to frequent this establishment. We highly suggest that if you have not already done so, you really MUST visit this wonderful little neighborhood wine bar. You will NOT be disappointed!!🍷They also have a limited menu that is truly exceptional. We love it, when we walk in, Tony and/or Linda will greet us with, "Hi Tom and Karen how are you and how have you been?" They make you feel asthough you really are a guest in their home and that you are a valued customer. They go out of their way to make you feel very comfortable and very much at home. We can not say enough good things about Cave a' Vin, give it a try and I am confident that you will also become a regular customer!! See you at...
Read moreJust had a really terrible experience here. Honestly, I feel scammed… my date and I each ordered two drinks. we were about to pay when she pointed out we had been each charged for an additional drink on the check. We told the waiter but he said that we were wrong and that we each had 3 drinks and not 2 - which is definitely not true since a) I remember drinking 2 drinks, and b) I’m a small human and was driving that evening, 2 is my limit. he went and spoke to his boss and came back and said there was nothing he could do. Then he sort of smugly told us to have a good night. Why didn’t he just correct his mistake? I feel like it really says something about a place when a situation like that sort of goes off the rails…If you’re thinking about going here, I recommend bar august instead. They have a better wine selection anyway (and much nicer to two young queer...
Read moreWhat a charming Wine Bar and small plate establishment! I have been wanting to visit this place for a number of years and finally got the chance recently. Clearly a hidden gem in New Haven. An extensive assortment of domestic and foreign wines that will satisfy any palate. I began the night with a "Wine Flight" of Portuguese Port Wines. Great light food offerings to nibble on as you try their various wines. Comfy sofa's & coffee tables, and an ample bar area for those who like mingle and chat with the owners and staff. We were early arrivals, so there wasn't a crowd just yet, but since many people stop by after going out to dinner, the place started filling up quite nicely as we were wisked away back to our hotel at around 10pm. We'll be back for sure!! Thank You, Tony and Linda for treating us to a very...
