The folks running the shop are kind and knowledgeable- especially on their exceptional selection of meat and fish. Stop in for a simple New York Strip or let Zach, the head butcher teach you about the dozens of different cuts you didn’t know existed. A bit of big city best in New Haven. The store is charming; the workers are all upbeat and helpful. Zack, the artisan butcher, is supremely knowledgeable and accommodating and friendly and patient. Moreover, the quality of the meat and poultry is excellent, and the prices are surprisingly reasonable given that this is a small, independent shop. The store also has some lovely interesting products such as Rancho Gordo beans, some select cheeses, pistachio oil, and many more temptations. Parking is easy especially if you park north of the market. Provisions is a first-rate market, and I hope the extended community will support such a special place. Provisions is my go to local butcher shop and they continue to deliver high quality customer experience and incredible products. They support small local farms with exceptional meat products with an array of local produce, seasonings and spices as well. I highly recommend the brisket, 2inch thick cut bone in ribeye, tenderloin, and ALL of their homemade sausages which are of some of the best I have had. The staff is super friendly and make you feel at home providing recommendations when needed and a smile on your way in and out. There is no other place I would rather spend my Saturday afternoons at than browsing at provisions and cooking up some delicious meals....
