Olympia Diner — Restaurant in New Haven

Food is okay. It doesn't stand out as great . It's not horrible though either. Basic breakfast. With basic flavor. Their home fries could use some work. Maybe some onions & chives. Definitely some more flavor. Prices are a little crazy. I ordered 3 scrambled eggs with cheese and rye toast . They charged me almost $9. It was pick up order. I looked later . On their sides 2 eggs cost $2.60 an extra egg it says .80. Plus toast ????? Still confused on that math. I looked at receipt. Basically looks like they charge me for one of the meals and just said I didn't want the hash browns or meat?!?? My husband and I were getting take home breakfast every Sunday for awhile. But between them messing up our order almost everytime . To charging us how ever much they feel like that day. We stopped with that headache. Also I tried chicken tenders once . Got extremely thin cut chicken cutlets with light breading. Fried . Very bazaar. Try it again... Just as bad if not worse. My husband's $10 me look like a kids meal. I ordered a $4 cheese omelette. Was told over the phone it didn't exist. Said I must have an old menu. Tried charging me 9.50 for it. When I pointed out I just took the pictures of their menu a week ago. The story changed. But it truly was the saddest omelette I've ever seen. 1 single slice of unmelted American cheese in center. They try to overcharge you every chance they get. Please pay attention to your receipt. Charger for meals you didn't order. Up charge you every chance. Service subpar, food...

I was at Olympian diner in New Haven on El Grasso Boulevard on Sunday, September 28 around 9:45 AM. I went in. I sat down at the counter. The waiter that was at the register did not greet me at all. It was another family that came in and they actually sat down at a table. She went directly over to them and got their order before even proceeding to ask me what did I wanna order? I got another waiter attention. She took my order nicely So when my order was getting ready to be done, the rude waiter came back up to me and asking what did I order? I did not wanna deal with her or speak with her so then I got my waiter attention and I asked her would she be able to bag my food because I did not want that waitress touching my food at all The food is good but the service and some of the waiters are bad are disgusting Then another customer came in to do a takeout order. She said she called about five times and she kept getting hung up on so she was a little bit frustrated. This place is trash. A few months ago I came to dine in and we waited for over 20 mins to recieve my food while the waitresses continue to reach and talk all over it as it sat in the window.. we left! I tried to give them another shot today and I'm upset I wasted my gas, money and time! I ordered whiting fish with grits and cheese ON THE SIDE! The fish is in a pan full of grits then what made it even worse was when I actually opened the container to attempt to eat my fish there I realize there's sunny side up eggs!!! --__- I don't like sunny side up eggs. Not going back ever again!!...
