Yeah well, if you know that Tommy Lee Jones (The actor) once dined there on more than (1) occasion during his stay while filming, then you know the vittles GOTS TO be really good! And that it is. It's hard to call it a "greasy spoon" unless it's in an endearing, culinary vein. Because there's nothing greasy about the food. Especially breakfast. It's the BEST in New Iberia and surrounding parishes! You MUST try their homemade hashbrown casserole! Please, don't leave without trying it. I get the French toast, three eggs over medium, the hashbrown casserole, grits with cheese and butter, and 3 sausage links. I know, I'm trying to do better. Just not for breakfast at Victor's! I come to eat and eat heartily. They do serve lunch and dinner, by the way. Fact is, I just get so full at breakfast that the next thing I know, it's morning again and time for - you guessed it - BREAKFAST! Dam, they serve the BEST breakfast. And the service is just like you would get at home. They bring your food and whatever condiments you may need, right to your table. And did I say they have THE best breakfast? Lawd, my mouth is watering just thinking about it! All salivating and thangs! Smh... Now I want some Victor's breakfast for...
Read moreBeautiful little cafeteria. Great service. Friendly staff. We were camping and a local guy at a gas station told us about this place. The etouffee and grits were a surprise. I must say the grits were some of the best I've ever had and I'm not a fan of grits normally. The portions were generous. I've never seen potatoes made like they did here and had an excellent flavor. Staff was very helpful and sweet and patient. The president of the parish was there that day and spoke with us for a little while. Architecture and deep ceiling inside his breathtaking. What a great little cafeteria. We were just in town camping so this was a pleasant surprise. If you get a chance go there. You won't be disappointed. Highly recommend. We will definitely be back if we're in this part...
Read moreWhen I tell y'all this was my favorite part of visiting my hometown, I ain't lying. To be quite honest, I'd only been a few times when I was a kid. Well now as an adult, I brought my future husband here for breakfast & we had such a great time. Ordering was extremely easy, the service was absolutely amazing, and the food was extremely delicious! It was a little crowded, but that typical for this place. The servers quickly found us a spot, as they saw us looking around. I experienced some of the best service I've ever had anywhere. This restaurant is definitely a must visit spot if you're in New Iberia. Highly recommend this awesome...
