MILK — Restaurant in New Lenox

Visiting this boba place, I was highly disappointed. Everything about this visit left a bad taste in my mouth. Firstly I’d like to start with the food, the products were questionable from the powder to the tapioca/popping pearls. This was not the Employees fault which is why I gave them a 5 star rating. The employees were kind and honest, and obviously worked with what little they were handed. This does not include the “manager, He seemed disinterested and lacked basic courtesy. While the two employees were making a long order of drinks, it took an eternity for him to acknowledge me, sitting on his phone and wandering around and not giving a helping hand to his workers. His indifference towards customers was evident as they barley made an effort to answer questions or provide recommendations. The quality of the tea was equally disappointing. I ordered their fruit tea, and nothing about it screamed “fresh fruit.” The tapioca was rubbery inconsistent, it was a let down, especially considering the price i paid. Inside the overall establishment ambiance was dull and uninviting, the lights were dull and the place smelled of old moldy towels. Again I would like to express that the employees interaction was the only 5 star rating i will give. !!DONT BELIEVE half of these reviews, they’re clearly fake and posted by friends/family of the business to raise they’re rating!! If you look at their reviews they’ve all reviewed the same businesses. But anyways

Drinks are supposed to be iced but are served room temp, the tapioca is overcooked so it’s slimy and tastes off. They don’t use fresh fruit, they use powders. There is not a single chair or table in there so it feels empty and unwelcoming. The entire time I was there the employees complained about their job/ the new mobile ordering/ their manager not communicating with them. They have their personal drinks on the counter with the drinks that they are making for customers and the whole place seems like an untrained and...

I came in the first time because I never tried boba before. I keep coming back not only because mango milk tea is my new favorite and I want to find the next best thing, but I always stick around and have a conversation. The staff is so nice, I didn’t know what lotus drink was and they explained it’s the lotus cookie, I didn’t even know what a lotus cookie was until they let me try one from the cookie jar. Til then I never knew the name of those cookies, and since I found out I was more open minded to try it just to see how that cookie would taste as a boba drink.
