Don’t make the mistake of ordering something and repeatedly emphasizing that you don’t want if hot, because if they make it hot/nasty and you tell them you don’t want it , then they charge you for it anyway.
I had a discussion with the waiter for almost a minute about not wanting the food hot. It came out hot and tasted like metal. When I told the waiter how the food tasted he asked me if I wanted to order something else. When I ordered the second meal he asked me how I liked it and I told him the second DIFFERENT meal item was good. When the bill arrived they had added the first menu item to the bill. I called the waiter over and he said they charge EVEN WHEN YOU SEND THE FOOD BACK. I told him I should not have to pay for food that I took one spoon of and thought was too hot and metallic tasting. He asked if I wanted to speak to the manager. And when the manager came out and I explained the problem he told me that HE should not have to take a HIT because I didn’t like the way the food tasted! I could not believe the audacity of him saying such a thing. Why should I pay for distasteful food? My interaction with the manager and the dish both left me with a bad taste in my mouth. I...
Read moreWe first tried Oy's not too long after they opened we thought the food was okay but neither of us are ever really looking for Thai food. What made that experience great was how friendly the staff was, and Oy entertained our almost 2 year old... Fast forward to April 2020 and a pandemic, driving by I thought about how sad it would be if they were a local business that didn't make it through the pandemic. The first reason was we had always meant to come back and hadn't and the second was in the 9 years we've lived in New Lenox I think they are the only business that has lasted more than a year and a half in that location. So I stopped and bought a bunch of gift certificates. We ordered Carry Out on Monday and everyone loved their meal The Drunken Noodles (Chicken & Beef) had just the right amount of heat, my wife loved the Pineapple Stir Fried Rice with chicken our little guys devoured chicken satay and rice and we all thought the Shrimp Shu Mail Dumplings were great. I actually ordered dinner from Oy's again last night. Really glad I stopped on that whim and can say they will be a staple in our carry out rotation...

Oy’s Food is easily the best, most authentic Thai I have had in America!! Easy.
The food here brought me back to Thailand. I don’t think I can describe how I felt eating, but it felt that every scoop (I ate with a spoon as Thais do) is infused with rich flavor that gushes with each bite!
This is the only place I’d recommend if you want authentic Thai. So many places “westernize/Americanize” their food and it loses the full richness of Thai food.
While Thai food in America can be good, this food is truly amazing! If I scaled American Thai food against Oys, oys would be a 10, the best restaurant otherwise would be a 3. You best believe I’ve been eating Thai food in many states the last 10 years. There is no other food that compares.
My 5 star rating isn’t high enough, I’d...
