I don't normally write reviews, regardless of my experience with the business, but I feel I must give some critical feedback with hope that they take it to heart and understand that I'm not just some mean a-hole. First the positives. It's a beautiful place to sit down, catch-up with a friend, and enjoy the beautiful ambiance. The folks that work there are extremely friendly. Unfortunately, the coffee leaves a lot to be desired. I've been drinking for 40 years, been to Europe, Asia, all around the world, so this is not my first rodeo. I love Starbucks coffee. I'm talking coffee, not these foo-foo "double mocha with 3 shots of caramel, extra soy" drinks. I'm talking coffee (black). The two different cups of coffee that I bought today were horrible. The young man who prepared them must have used a pour over drip method with way too much coffee grinds. I love strong coffee, but this was like motor oil. I understand coffee is an acquired taste, and this young man is obviously not a coffee drinker. I'd recommend that they prepare standard procedures or instructions to help with the preparation of the drink. Don't just wing it with the amount of coffee grinds. The person preparing these instructions should actually love coffee and know what to expect. I've lived in New Market for 21 years now and I want this business to succeed. As of right now, Dunkin Donuts makes better coffee (sorry but true), and i think their coffee is rather weak, but at least...
Read moreWe stopped into this little quaint place on the way out of town on the Fourth of July. It got great reviews so we stopped in with our 21 year old nonverbal son, Gus, for coffee and to get a quick bite. We ordered cappuccinos and they were delicious! Our cappuccinos came in these cute white cups with a saucer with a little spoon like you would find in a little café in Italy. The atmosphere and decor of this little gem were on point with its clean farmhouse touches of decor. We were greeted right away by two very nice women. We approached the counter as the young woman at the register waited patiently as Gus tried to order his hashbrowns and bagel with butter. We also ordered the bacon egg cheese hash brown burrito. We compare our burritos to places like Rise up in Ocean City, Maryland and these burritos didn’t quite stack up. The bacon bits were premade which made the bacon bits chewy, the eggs were fluffy but also premade and microwaved and also unseasoned so not made fresh to order. The floured tortilla they were wrapped in were soft and warm but overall we would give the burrito 3 stars. Everything else was a 5+ including the cute outdoor patio complete with a couch, tables, chairs and sea glass wind chimes. This place made for a beautiful summer morning on the Fourth of July. Try it if you want a hot cup of coffee served with a smile. The pastries looked great. We didn’t try any of those! Service, ambience,...
