GREAT PARTY PLACE FOR 7 YEAR OLD
Hosted my 1st grader's bday party here on Sunday of President's Day Weekend.
My kids and husband had visited several times, but this was our 1st party there and my first visit.
**FRIENDLY STAFF: All of the staff we interacted with between the party room, arcade room, restaurant, and prize desk were attentive, friendly, and helpful. Yes, it is understaffed (what place isn't?), but everyone there had a good attitude and was doing their best to make it work.
**VERY DECENT PIZZA: I've eaten a ton of bad pizza at children's parties. At this point in my life, having attended dozens of parties at play places, I've had more bad pizza than good.
So we were all pleasantly surprised that the pizza (we ordered cheese, pepperoni, and sausage) was pretty good quality, cooked well, and not a dinky size (pies were 14 inches). I would have preferred more sauce, but that's my complaint about most pizzas...
**VERY GOOD PARTY SERVICE: From the beginning, the staff was responsive and helpful. We arrived early to decorate the room and staff checked in multiple times to offer help.
Our party was a little bigger than what was originally planned and, thankfully, Brandon, the General Manager was able to accommodate us.
Note: It helped that our party was in the first time slot of the day and the only party going during that time so they were able to extend more flexibility to us.
Ricky, our Party Captain in the party room, wore gloves and kept the pizza pies in insulated bags, serving them one slice at a time so that the pizza stayed warm (and covered) throughout our one hour party time.
Ricky was proactive, quickly re-filling beverage pitchers before I noticed they were getting low and actively listening to my conversations with guests so he could prepare their beverage or pizza slice. He was also very communicative, letting me know when he was leaving the room to refresh beverages so I wouldn't think he was disappearing for no reason.
Note: we had one party captain helping in the party room. I think if I had asked for a second party captain they would have provided one, but I and another family member typically take active roles at our parties so we didn't need a second staff member.
GOOD VARIETY IN THE ARCADE/ATTRACTIONS: The party package we chose included 2 hours of access to attractions and a $10 credit for arcade games. My 7-year-old watched several of the 3D movies, played laser tag, climbed the rock wall, rode the bumper cars, went in the play structure, bowled, did the ropes course, and played 9 holes of mini golf. He also played arcade games within that 2.5 hour time period. He rated his experience as a 20/10--a 200% satisfaction rating!
**OTHER POSITIVES: --Tasty Adult Beverages: Some party goers tried the adult beverages and thought the flavor, strength, prices were good ($8 margarita) --Good Chicken Tender Basket: We tried the chicken tender basket from the Saloon and thought that was pretty decent --Decent bathrooms. Clean for a kids play place. --Good Mini-Golf Course: We played the first 9 holes, it was cold and we were the only ones outside. I saw another reviewer said the golf course green was torn up, but we didn't see any of that, so the green must have been replaced recently. It's not the fanciest golf course--don't expect animatronics--but the 7 year old enjoyed it. --Easy and plentiful parking
The arcade could use some updating in terms of decor--the carpet for example is pretty dark and worn, but your kids won't notice that. The party room is plain, but I expected that and brought in decorations.
The place is relatively clean compared to other children's play places we've been to (🤢 Frederick Urban Air, Gaithersburg Sky Zone).
I felt the price of the Ultimate party package was fair considering the variety of the activities available, excellent party service, and great pizza. The only thing I would do differently is order fewer pizzas.
We will definitely return in the Spring/Summer when...
Read moreI came here today, 6/30/19. I have a 4 yr old and 5 yr old and based on my online sleuthing, it looked like this park would have enough rides and other action to keep little ones entertained, and it sure did.
First off, Groupon offers all-day passes that include unlimited rides, ropes course, wall climbing, mini-golf, some go karts and other activities all for only $25. And the adult doesn't have to pay so long as they don't go on the rides (if you are needed on the ride because a child can't ride alone, most ride attendants were good about letting you on with them at no extra cost). So for $50 bucks for 2 kids, you have a long full day ahead.
The rides were perfect for a 4 and 5 yr old. If your child is under 48", they can only go on one small coaster. If your child is under 42", they will be limited to small spinny rides, or else the adult may need to pay as they will have to ride with them on a lot of stuff. Plenty of spinny little stuff, tall slides, water bumper boats with water guns, indoor glowing hover bumper cars, a nice small roller coaster, and my 5 yr old was able to go on a bigger coaster (need to be 48"). He must have went on that 20 times at least. As one adult with two kids, it was nice that one kid could go on one ride, and the other kid another ride, at the same time, since the park wasn't overly crowded.
Some reviews complained about the food prices. I thought they were normal. A $6 souvenir cup with $1 refills kept us all hydrated on a long, hot day. Hot dog / chicken fingers/ pizza was all in the $4 range, not terrible. The inside is clean and spacious, bathrooms are large and clean, this was just a great place, it was easy to have a good time, and my kids had a blast. We were there for over 7 hours!!
Some tips: I got there on Sunday at 10AM, right when the park opened. We were the only ones there for about 30 minutes, so we just went on ride after ride with no lines. Even in the afternoon, the lines were never a problem. As I mentioned, we did the $25 Groupon all-day passes. I saw some people paying each time they went on a ride (like 7 bucks each ride!) and I can't imagine how much they spent in total and the stress about having to be picky about which rides to do. Shared one souvenir cup w/ refills for two kids. Pretty easy to get to parking lot if you want to bring your own food/snacks, but I didn't want to plan all that. Do water bumper boats close to last as you get very wet and aren't allowed on indoor rides when you are wet. Train your kids, NO arcade games. My kids knew that rule going in, and that saved us from wasting money. There's plenty to do without needing to spend on arcade games.
All in all, very pleased and we...
Read moredon’t even know where to start, but to say I was disappointed would be an understatement. We visited for the first time and purchased the “unlimited” indoor & outdoor attraction wrist bands for $42 a piece. We headed outside first to discover that half the rides didn’t have attendants and were only accessible to the summer camp participants, unless we wanted to stand around and wait for a non summer camp worker to come. We waited by one for about 5 minutes before giving up after no one came (after a camp worker told me we had to go track an attendant down and couldn’t be bothered to make an attempt to help.) we decided to go inside only to find that most of the indoor rides weren’t running, and more than half the arcade games weren’t included in the wristband deal (which was not disclosed at the time of purchase.) so, after being discouraged outside & in, it was lunch time and my kid was hungry. There was a sign out front advertising a restaurant on premise but that was also closed. The only option was a “snack bar” which served ice cream, slushees, and chips and old overcooked “soft” pretzels. We did see pizza and hot dogs being delivered for the camp kids, but that wasn’t an option to purchase for regular customers.m either. We stood in line for over 20 min to get ice cream and upon hearing that the roller coaster my son wanted to try also wasn’t running, we decided to just call it a day after less than an hour of being there. We spoke to the manager to attempt to recoup our losses and we’re told no refunds, so we got our $85 on a gift card, which was the same as not getting anything back bc we will never return. The bathrooms smelled atrocious (even from the hallway leading into). The whole place was over run by middle school kids on a field trip with seemingly no adult supervision bc they were all cutting the snack line and being loud and disrespectful. We spent more time driving there (one way) than actually there. Save your time and money and just go to Dave and busters or Chuck E. Cheese. Your local town carnival would even be a...
