Sanzari's New Bridge Inn — Restaurant in New Milford

Was recommended to this place several times by friends, one night decided to give it a try since it is in my area and only literally a 5minute drive from my home. From the moment I walked in, I knew this was going to be good......Everyone's table/bar dishes looked fantastic and mouth watering......I sat down at the bar, was greeted by a young Italian lady (Francesca) and then back up was right behind her (Janet-young pretty girl with beautiful curly hair) - Was given a menu and specials that would knock your socks off! Everything looked so good, I wanted to order one of everything! - started off with a fabulous refreshing string bean and beat salad after of course being given fresh bread - plate of mixed olives and parmesan cheese - the real deal not some fake $.99 stuff. Had a martini perfectly made by both Francesca and Janet - Ok so I had 3 Martinis! - Fabulously made to perfection. Next was the main course - I had a wonderful fabulous Halibut Fish that was cooked to perfection in the most wonderful white wine and lemon sauce! My friend got the Rigatoni Bolognese dish - TO DIE FOR! - This place really has great food and drinks and Friday and Saturday Nights you will find "Josh" the DJ/Singer of Cover songs - he is 10000% entertainment and if your lucky his wife pops in and out every now and then on a Saturday! - The place has me hooked - now I go at least once if not twice a week to eat! I am telling everyone about this place - not only because of the name of the place, but the quality and the food and service and freshness of all their foods. We received a gift card to dine here. We've never been here before. When we walked in we were greeted warmly and promptly seated in a beautifully decorated room with a warm homey feel. The servers were so friendly, attentive, but not intrusive, and very helpful, even supplied a stand to hold purses off the floor. The food was perfectly prepared. Started with complimentary warm loaves of bread served with Olive Oil and sundried tomatoes - so good! From appetizers to dessert, each bite, each entrée was thoroughly enjoyed! We started with Coconut Shrimp, Shrimp Cocktail and stuffed mushrooms. The shrimp were of an impressive size, not too much but oh so good! The stuffed mushrooms portion of 4 good-sized mushrooms caps generously stuffed to delight! The prime rib was made perfectly and served with horseradish, potatoes, a delicious bread muffin and veggies. The homemade lasagna did not disappoint with its generous portion and topped with freshly shredded cheese, so good! The filet mignon was exquisite. So tender and bursting with flavor! The mashed red potatoes were creamy and whipped to perfection. Roasted veggies on the side were savory as well. The portions, overall, were more than we could eat, so we happily requested our leftovers to be packed to brought home. We ended the evening the Chocolate Mousse served with fresh whipped cream, so good! The prices are a little steep for us, but wow! Well worth it! I came to this restaurant on a Thursday afternoon after looking at the reviews online. I had high hopes as the reviews were good however, my experience did not live up to those expectations.

I sat in the bar area and started with a mocktail, here lies the first problem. My request for a mocktail, since I'm pregnant, turned into confusion and an across the room conversation with a woman who I assumed to be a bar manager or another employee off duty. I typically ask a waiter if they can make a mocktail and if they have a creative bartender. I am completely open to anything the bartender would make within a specific flavor profile. I ended up getting sparkling water mixed with pineapple juice. Completely fine, but just not what I expected based off the reviews.

I ended up eating the French onion soup which came out fast and was good for what it was.

Finally, I had asked my waiter what his favorite item was out of the specials on the menu and he randomly pointed to one, the fettuccine and shrimp, and said "that would be interesting." Again, this is not what I expect when I read the review about service. I would have been more than happy to have a $50+ tab however, I ended up leaving shortly after finishing the soup because I didn't feel that my experience would...
