Bayou Hot Wings — Restaurant in New Orleans

Disappointing wings all around. They simply tasted... Old. We're these wings reheated to order? This is likely due to the poor quality chicken. Very dark, black bones and meat - stale, old taste and texture. The wings were clearly not cleaned very well either as there were so many feathers still attached. The wings drastically ranged in size from being almost too big as they were tough and chewy all the way to incredibly small with just very little dried up meat attacked to the bone.

Tried the Garlic parm wings. They were very dry, almost no garlic to taste and hard shredded parmesan cheese melted to the top of the wings. Not a fan of breading either... If that was even breading. It was strange and soggy.

So the wife and I were craving chicken tenders with buffalo sauce and blue cheese, plus some onion rings. After doing much internet sleuthing, we happened across this place. And HOLY MOLEY it absolutely came out way better than our expectations! First off the tenders were enormous! After eating 3 of 10 tenders I decided to weigh the box and it was well over a pound! Then come the onion rings! Perfectly spiced and breaded. I didn’t need sauce or anything. The fries were exactly what I was looking for today, again not shy about seasoning and still hot when they arrived. This place is terrible. Ordered the hotboy wings with the small fries ($12). The wings look like someone with NO experience fried the wings. Just regular fried wings with little sauce on them and a sprinkle of crushed red peppers. Speaking of peppers, I asked the guy how spicy is the hotboy wings. His response was “you see the three peppers on the side of the words hotboy wings”. I don’t speak peppers smh at that point I wanted to walk out but I had already paid for my food.
