Been local for 10 years, and not sure how it took me so long to discover this gem! Our new breakfast spot in New Orleans. We were looking for other options as we were getting a little tired of our ā€œusualsā€œ. We were rousing through options on Google maps and came across this place open for breakfast. It was clearly a family Dash run establishment and we really enjoyed hearing about the menu from our server who I believe was part of the family. We were very impressed with their full all-day breakfast menu (see my updated menu photo; the prior most recent photo on Google reviews was three years old and not accurate), especially the large selection of fresh fruit smoothies and a full espresso menu, which is not very common for a small establishment. The Cuban espresso was bold and bracing as you’d like it. The decor of both the inside and outside dining areas were carefully curated and polished with a touch of someone who clearly cared about their establishment. Dining alongside sunny Carrollton Avenue was a great vibe. The food was delicious and authentic with large portion sizes! The Chilaquiles in particular were a comforting, warm, spiced morning hug from someone’s sweet abuelita. The sweet plantains were a treat. I’ll be back ASAP to try the multiple flavors of lunch/dinnertime arepas and...

I came here on a whim and am so pleased!! I got to try the plantains, elote, mangoneada, and some beef tacos (quesatacos on the menu).

The plantains were fried to perfection, not too greasy, and well-salted. The sauce they came with was really fresh. This was my first time trying plantains where I actually liked them!!

The elote was amazing, the spices on it were tangy and delicious, and the cheese was super generous.

The mangoneada was my favorite ever!! Perfect mix of sweet, tangy, and a teeny bit of spicy. And super fresh!

The quesatacos had great flavor, the shredded beef marinade was super delicious and the salsa and lime they came with kicked it up a whole nother notch! I also tried one with the beef steak (a $0.75 upcharge) which was really good too, super fresh and hot! Not quite as seasoned as the shredded beef, which I think let the steak really shine.

Long story short: try this place out! You will NOT be...

Cafe Tomas came highly recommended. When our streetcar stopped we decided to catch a bite and then walk home. Mistake. Should’ve gone to Lebanon Cafe next door instead. Grabbed a seat and there was one other table of 3 in restaurant. Sign outside said $1 taco Tuesday. We just needed a quick bite so figured that would be good. We ordered plantanos, 2 chicken tacos and 2 beef tacos. Food was good. Need a bit tough. It took 15 minutes to get platanos. Mind you, ONE other table. Noticed their dishes came out piece-mailed. Another TWENTY minutes for FOUR tacos. Get the bill and partner paid. Got half-way home and looked at receipt to see we had been charged $3.99 for EACH taco. Were they good? For the most part yes. Were they worth $4.00 each when the sign outside said $1? Nope! Will...

Cafetomas never disappoints!! Their new location is beautiful and it has the same charm as their first location in Kenner. Cafetomas has the best background music and it is never too loud. Food was also outstanding. We got breakfast arepa and the beef arepas and we loved them both. Their natural juices are great too. Additionally, the owner is very welcoming and ensures you have a great experience.

Went here for the first time last weekend. Food was exceptional and we really liked the place. Honestly though, the coffee was not good. The Americano I ordered was weak and the Cuban Coffee was just ok. I'm not a coffee snob in the least as I do like drip coffee, but I feel like having a weak Americano (which I know is a shot of espresso plus hot water) is pretty bad.
