Let me just say, the manager Hillary was an absolute delight! Funny, attentive, and really added to the whole vibe of the place. The atmosphere was amazing—definitely a spot with great energy. The music? Completely on point. We ordered a few drinks—the Hurricane and the Minnie—and wow, they hit! Strong, flavorful, and expertly made. Shoutout to the bartender who really did her thing. The Hurricane was my personal favorite! Now let’s talk about the food. 🔥 Everything came out hot and fast, and it was hands-down some of the best eats on Oak Street. We tried the Kala, catfish sliders, wings (only $1 during happy hour!), and mac and cheese. The wings with the jalapeño garlic sauce were a flavor bomb—so good! The catfish sliders were perfectly seasoned and full of flavor, and the mac and cheese was creamy and delicious. From start to finish, this was a top-tier experience. If you’re looking for great food, drinks, vibes, and service—this is the place to be. Highly recommend checking it out!

Great dinner spot to try some local favorites. We ordered the Fried Pork chops with greens, the Gulf Fried Shrimp, a Bar Burger and we ordered the baked macaroni and candied yams. Everything was delicious. Had the right amount of kick, and subtle flavors. Even the home made dressing on the Arugula Salad that came with the shrimp was fantastic. We also enjoyed several cocktails. Everyone working there seemed happy to let us try their food, and were very welcoming. We have to go back to try the other menu items.

We had a great experience! Everything was delicious and very reasonably priced. Longer menu is in the works. My kids loved the burger. Great service!

My wife and I had a wonderful experience at Minnie and John's. We were greeting warmly and it was clear right away that this team is working hard to welcome people and provide a high quality experience. Everything was fresh and prepared and seasoned properly. It was refreshing to visit an establishment where people care so much. The shrimp was fried perfectly and not over salted...and the dressing on the salad was just right! We're really excited to have something like this so close to us in Old Jefferson. Can't wait to come back for the expanded menu which should be...

Here’s a polished version of your review that you can post online or share:

I was in town for Essence Festival weekend and decided to try out Minnie and John for dinner—and I must say, I was not disappointed! The food was absolutely amazing, and the servers were incredibly friendly and welcoming.

I had a delicious pasta dish that was full of flavor, and my husband ordered the red beans and wings, which were also outstanding. This cute spot truly exceeded our expectations. I’ll definitely be recommending it to anyone...
