Iâve been frequenting this PJâs for ~2 years (and, throughout high school 10 years ago). Despite the flavors of cold brew changing from barista to barista (often fairly nasty), and having had to hear about numerous interpersonal conflicts from employees, Iâve ignored the issues bc Izzy, Jeffrey, and so many of the staff are so kind. Not this evening.
On 10/09, who ever was working the store at around 6:30pm told me that itâs there standard process to close the back at night. I asked âsince whenâ, and he said âsince foreverâ, and I said âreally?â, he sarcastically rolled his eyes and said âsorry to break it to youâ, and then turned around.
Honestly, I waste the money on yâallâs coffee (itâs bad) for the space and good vibes, but I will not be returning again. You can validate that Iâm a true customer through my name/500+ points sitting in your system.
For clarity, had this new employee simply said âIâm new and scared to keep the back openâ, I wouldnât have minded. It was the lying to my face, and then saying âsorry to break it to youâ that sealed the deal. Super uncomfortable experience.

Read moreI think this might have been the worst coffee shop experience I have ever had. So much so that this is the first coffee shop I havenât tipped at. The manager should consider firing the man with the receding hairline and overalls. From the first sentence I spoke to him I felt like an annoyance. I asked if they had white mocha and he rolled his eyes. Then my friend wanted to pay for me but we both put our cards out. He said âIâm not playing that game, I just need a card.â I cannot imagine seeing a kind interaction and then deciding to bring both individuals down. I have actually been a barista before, and no matter what type of day I was having, I have never treated any customer like that. To put it plainly, that is a mean-spirited man. My friend asked him, âAre you having a good day?â And he said âNođĄâ
Also, the food is straight from Costco and the red haired barista deserves a raise. She should not have to split any tips with the bald old man. Youâre at least 50, control your emotions.
I can only speak on the Pjs on magazine st. If you are looking for coffee on magazine, the caramel latte at undergrowth is so good! Plus the barista and atmosphere was an...
Read morePJ's coffee is one of the best roasters in New Orleans, with many locations throughout the city and region. This particular store on Magazine Street is always clean, staff is friendly, and the atmosphere is fantastic. The courtyard is a truly peaceful spot, with beautiful alcoves equipped with comfortable outdoor furniture to enjoy coffee with friends, or read/study in. Inside, the store features several lounge-style rooms with cafe tables and couches. Overall it is generally a quiet and upscale coffee shop, while much less expensive than many national chain...
