I've been hanging out on this side of the Greenway as of late and bar hopping around this area. I really like this bar even if I've only been twice. First time I popped in, they were having a dance party and the DJ was doing a good job spinning. The place was packed, everyone dancing, playing pool and having a good time. Oddball me finds a spot at the bar and starts reading. But it's NOLA so by the end of the night I've made friends and end up at some strangers house party. Second time around I stumbled back from watching the game at Holy ground to drown my sorrows. Being early evening before the holidays it was basically empty. I had a couple beers, big plus for having 2 hearted, and chatted with the bartender and another couple. It feels really comfortable here. They play good music, have a pool table, they have trivia and regular DJs. The 1st time they were playing anime, plus black bartenders in mid city. Not sure if it's black owned, but I'm here to support and represent. I do want to try their kitchen, the...
Ā Ā Ā Read more12 Mile Limit is one of the coolest and most unique bars around. It is great for groups, and we have had a a fantastic time every time we have visited. The atmosphere is a very laid back, comfortable neighborhood dive bar kind of feel. There are plenty of tables, and I think there is an outdoor area as well. The food is good, I think BBQ most of the time which we've had once and is delicious. They always seem to have very unique food and happy hour specials. The cocktails are also very good and inventive, but not quite as good as some other bars in the city. However, you cannot beat the prices here. I think this is the place where you can get the highest quality cocktails for the cheapest prices around. The bartenders know their stuff, and are also very friendly and fast. The whole vibe of 12 Mile Limit just invites you to slow down, stay a while, hang out, and relax. This is one of our favorite bars in New Orleans with one of the best names of...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWent here recently with friends. One of the worst bar experiences in my life š¬
Drinks: EXTREMELY overpriced. For a few simple drinks (think gin and tonic) we paid $43 before tip. They came in... plastic cups. Literal plastic mardi gras cups. Not only that but they were tiny! I'm talking half a pint of lukewarm beer in a plastic cup. Mindboggling. Felt like a cheap tailgate. The non-beer drinks came to maybe the halfway point of the cup.
Service: the bartender could not remember four (very basic) drinks at once and made us repeat the order multiple times.
Atmosphere: weird crowd and ridiculous decorations. There's a grungy cloth sofa with weird stains, the bathrooms were disgusting. The comedy was so cringe, more laugh at than laugh with...
If expensive warm drinks in plastic cups is your vibe this is the spot....
