If you want people who will go the full nine to get your computer working in perfect order, or otherwise find the solution you need, check out Crescent City Technologies. My first experience with them was some years back, when I dropped and disabled my computer two days before moving to another country. I was desperate, but the gentlemen at Crescent City Technology made my plight their personal issue and worked extra hours to make sure that I had a fully operational computer before I got on the plane.
Last month, I returned to Crescent City Technologies (just walked in, no appointment necessary) with another computer in which almost every function had ceased working. The men again took on this case with the personal touch and dedication usually reserved for a dear friend or family member. All four computer experts became involved, each trying his best to figure out what the issues were and what solutions were possible. They made my computer their personal cause, staying late night after night for seven nights, trying to make sure I could fly back to my home in that other country with a fully repaired machine. When it became apparent that the computer was not repairable, one of the men took it upon himself to go down to CostCo on a Saturday morning, researching other computers that he thought might be most appropriate for me. I received a list of the pros, cons, and pricing of each of the four computers he thought might best fit my needs. Who does that?!? Then, when I bought one of the recommended computers, the shop owner stayed very late the night before my departure to load it with everything I might need, and to teach me how to use it. They were kind and patient throughout this whole ordeal.
My full charge for dozens and dozens of hours of work on their part was so low that I told them it was highway robbery of which I wanted no part, but they insisted that they wouldn't take more. How they have stayed in business for more than 25 years with these prices, I can't imagine; it must be some "what goes around, comes around" ethic rarely seen in our hyper-capitalist world.
I can't think of any business in New Orleans, of any category, that offers more committed, knowledgeable, and above-and-beyond help than Crescent City Technologies. They are unbelievable. Thanks, Dane, Rich, and...
Read moreI recommend finding a place that has a tech who works at least once a week. I'll be as fair as possible and lower the bar even more: if the tech only works once a week, they should at least know which day. I'm pretty sure literally every single other place has techs that work every day and have predictable schedules set in advance, so there really is no need to settle for such a low bar, below bare minimum standard.
I called in advance and was told I could bring my computer in. I brought it in on Monday. The guy wanted me to go back home, get my charger, and bring it to them. The reason that I didn't bring my charger in the first place is because every other shop I've been to has multiple chargers for multiple devices. They usually sell chargers, mice, cases, etc. They probably do have more chargers than they realize, but the place is a filthy pigsty, so it would probably take forever to find one. Another first for me: a computer repair shop with techs who randomly show up and no spare chargers.
Anyway, I was told they would call me in a few hours. about 72 hours later, on Thursday, I called for an update. the guy yelled to someone asking if the tech would be in today, then he told me the tech should be in later, and he'll call me in a couple of hours.
I showed up Friday afternoon to pick it up so I could bring it to one of the other 99.999999% of shops with techs who work every day with set schedules. the guy I gave it to wasn't there, and the other guys seemed to not even know my computer exists. so I guess depending on who you deal with, they just take your computer and toss it to the side and not tell anyone else.
to be fair, they did apologize. as warm and fuzzy as that made me feel, I would have much rathered them to offer some kind of discount and guarantee to fix it immediately to make up for the week I went...
Read moreI brought my MacBook Pro to this company after Apple Support could not figure out the problem when they attempted to troubleshoot it while they were remotely on my tablet. It was Apple Support who recommended that I take the computer to an authorized Mac Repair location. I googled and found several companies, but was reluctant after reading the reviews. I chose to bring my computer to this company for no uncertain reason, but I was not disappointed. Not only did they fixed the problem, they showed sincere personal interest in this customer. Finding a solution to my problem was no easy task, but they kept working at the problem until a solution was found. I'm glad I made the decision to take my computer here........Adam, you're the best. Keep doing what you're doing Sir. I recommend this company to everyone with computer issues...I found them to be not only...
