The Cakehole — Restaurant in New Palestine

Absolutely amazing experience with The Cakehole. I had been searching all around for a bakery in the Indianapolis area to make my son's Wednesday Addams themed birthday cake. It's become a family tradition to have over-the-top birthday cakes, but I was striking out everywhere for weeks as it's May and therefore wedding season has begun. I wanted black buttercream frosting with minimal food coloring icing a red velvet cake, which means using black cocoa in it. Desperate, I posted to a Facebook group for suggestions, and the owner was tagged in the comments. I sent her a message and she worked some kind of magic to get me squeezed in last minute. The price was reasonable for what I was asking for, and I was happy to drive out to New Pal to pick it up. Not only was the order completed on time, but it is GORGEOUS, and it is exactly what my 8 year old had envisioned as he was describing what he wanted. I swear to you, I will make the drive every year for another one of her masterpieces and for her amazing and timely service. I'll just call her FIRST from now on. Thank you for making a little boy's cake...

This review is long overdue. Jovanna made the most beautiful cake for my daughter's unicorn-themed birthday party, after literally no guidance from me. I asked for a unicorn cake, and I received something out of a magazine. Every single person commented on how beautiful the cake was, and one person even said something along the lines of, "I've only ever seen a cake like this on Instagram :-). Another seemed perplexed that it actually tasted amazing, as if a cake so beautiful couldn't possibly taste delicious too. But it was, and it did! Once you find something good, you stick with it, and I will be headed back to The Cakehole for all of my cake needs! Thanks...

The Cakehole did the wedding cake/cupcakes for our wedding. In terms of vendors, they were clearly the best part of the night. By far. I've been to plenty of weddings and did some tastings while planning ours - most wedding cakes are overpriced and, in the end, not great. Not the case for ours. We did a few flavors of cupcakes, and they were amazing. The guests raved.

And yes, we were on a tight budget. We were not one of those couples who spent $30,000 or even $20,000 on their wedding. They offered the best value in terms of cost vs. serving your guests something was not just OK or acceptable,...
