Went this morning for my first time. My husband already has a loyalty card there so he a 'regular' but it was my first. It was excellent! I have a somewhat restrictive food plan and the owner was very willing to work with me and in fact, offered some suggestions as to something he had created for others who have similar issues to mine. I was very, very happy with my breakfast sandwich "innerds" as I called them, the bacon, egg and cheese without the outer bun. Next time I may take him up on also having his Cheesy Bun which doesn't have any wheat flour at all, but lots of cheeses, some coconut flour or milk and I think some almond flour. I need to talk with him again to be sure, but sounds like it might work with my plan if I leave off one of the proteins from the "innerds"... Then I had a spectacular herbal tea - Cinnamon Plum - which tasted even better than it smelled. It was very deep flavored and when I added a bit of stevia (yes, he had stevia to offer...) it was even more flavorful! My husband had his usual coffee and croissant breakfast sandwich - the croissants are made right there at the shop! This is a superb place in an out-of-the-way strip mall which could be easily overlooked but you would be missing out if you don't try to find it. FYI, if you know where the main post office is for New Port Richey FL, it's...
Read moreMy wife, son, and I are on our hunt for a local coffee spot that can compete with Starbucks. I saw East Main Street Coffee as a highly rated spot from Google reviews so we decided to stop in.
Our first thoughts of the shop are on the atmosphere and seating. We walked in and it's a really small place but has a decent amount of seating for the size. The atmosphere was unique and felt warm and inviting.
My wife and I moved up to the counter and placed our order. My wife ordered a peppermint mocha iced coffee with a bacon, egg, and cheese burrito. I ordered a peppermint mocha iced decaf pour over with a breakfast Cuban. My wife thought the iced coffee was ok but again not anything close to Starbucks. The bacon, egg, and cheese burrito she ordered was ok but not great. I was very interested in the breakfast Cuban and dug in. The sandwich is not bad if I wanted a pressed ham, egg, and cheese sandwich but wasn't really a Cuban in any way. My coffee lacked flavor and didn't taste anything like a peppermint mocha and more like a regular coffee with light cream. Unfortunately the coffee just wasn't good and I ended up just dumping out and getting a Starbucks coffee.
Overall we just didn't enjoy our experience with East Main Street Coffee. We will continue our journey to find a local spot that can compete with Starbucks...
Read moreIt was my first time here and I was excited to try it given the good reviews. I even told the woman at rhe register it was our first time in after passing it a bunch of times, thinking they'd welcome us in or suggest something to try but she brushed it right over her Shoulders. One thing I did not like was no free refills (they cost .99) which is fairly reasonable but I've been to a lot of coffee houses that provide free refills. I would have loved to sit there and enjoy a few cups of coffee but I wasn't too happy about paying .99 for it in house. They do offer 1 "free" refill for in house cups but they should given the size of the coffee cup. But again that's not unreasonable I just didn't like it! The hot coffee itself was delicious though, I loved the medium roast! We also ordered breakfast wraps and I was not happy at all with those. They were cooked well and presented nicely but very generic. I got maybe 2 quarter size slices of ham in mine and my husband's had 2 very thin slices of bacon. Both didn't have much flavor/seasoning which is disappointing...
