Walked in and immediately greeted with a "hey guys" so at least this place recognizes when someone walks in. So the half and half concept is very interesting and the first we have ever seen. The over the pool table view on the tbs is a nice touch. Full liquor bar with specials daily. Half of the place is smoking and boy o boy do they smoke. They do offer food but if you order food from the smoking side it comes from the non smoking side and is served in a to go container according to staff. The kitchen is on the non smoking side and if you sit on that side you can basically get it served dine in style. The signage outside advertising the smoking vs non smoking side is not good. We had no idea there was a non smoking side until we asked what the sliding door was about. The bartender did not impress us with her nasty mouth nor did the woman sitting at the bar, who works there, and has the same kind of mouth. "You either like me or you hate me" seemed to be her motto. Where I come from they would say use your grown up words instead of being a foul mouthed server. The prices were fair on drinks. We did not see any food so can't comment on that but all things point to it being decent. When we are in the area we will try the non smoking side. I would recommend you stop in and...
Read morePrices for Home Saloon can be unveiled as cost-effective. It Is in a plaza with a Save A Lot. Cottee River Park is also five minutes away so it can be a scenic stopover after some nature. I like this location because they have television and its enjoyable. Values that I like in Home Saloon are that its casual and relax. There are some games if somebody wants to play darts or pool. I received polite and outgoing service. I ordered the Jalapeno Poppers, which were not as spicy as expected. The menu is not so vast in terms of food but there are chicken tenders and burgers. The poppers come with a side of ranch. The Jalapenos were warm, and I liked the taste of the exterior. The exterior was breaded with a sodden kind of flavor. The peppers fall out of the breading which takes away from the simultaneous texture of the poppers. I thought that the peppers were tangy and sour. The poppers are a convenient option if somebody is of decent appetite. Altogether, the poppers are adequately tasty. I think Home Saloon is a cool place if somebody wants to swing by. If there is a game on and need somewhere to watch it; I think Home Saloon is a convivial...
Read moreLooking forward to trying their food, but they closed the kitchen early the night I ended up there. They have the bar split from a restaurant side which offers non-smoking and smoking areas for those who want it. They have a couple of pool tables and cameras over them if you want to watch someone shoot a game which I thought was a nice change. They were pretty busy on the Wednesday we went, probably from pool league and regulars, but the place started to clear out around midnight. Service was good, she was really helpful...
