New Port Richey Recreation & Aquatic Center — Attraction in New Port Richey

They rebuilt the recreation center some years back but are constantly updating everything! The place offers so much for so little. They have professionals on site for the pools (3) and the work out gym. The equipment is state of the art as they are always keeping up with the latest trends and safety of their equipment. There is even a child care center within the main building where they will watch your child/children for up to two hours FREE! When you drop off your child, you are given a beeper so you're never more than a moment away. They are set up for children from infancy to pre teen with specified areas along with appropriate entertainment and exercise. Two professionals are at the ready in the work out gym. They are truly great guys. Very friendly and professional AND non judgmental. I see kids as young as 16 to adults as old as 80 and everyone else in between. By far better than meat market gyms that cost five times as much and that's without a professional showing you "the ropes" so that you can work out safely and with a program to meet your fitness level, needs and to meet your own desired outcome. I couldn't be more pleased. For what comes out to be $7 per month per family member we ALL have access to something that keeps us active entertained, happy and healthy. I HIGHLY recommend the rec center to EVERYONE as there is something here for EVERYONE! We can't wait till the kiddie pool and large slide pool open on March 17th! Went here on a Saturday was busy lots of kids. Very disappointed with a few of the staff there. I am a mother of five. My kids came with me. My youngest is 1 1/2. Potty trained... Just in case I put her in swimmers no accidents pls. Anyhow, young lady told me if my child has a plastic cover diaper one they sell she can be in the pool. I explained to her she is potty trained. The young lady began to tell me she was too young and I needed one... I'm unsure how this lady can tell me my kid isn't potty trained.... My friends who came with me purchased one from them for 2.50.. I went to the rest room with the plastic diaper it didn't fit her she weighed to much she is 42 lbs those plastic pants only fit baby's who are up to 30 lbs 🤔 ok.... what to do.. went back... the lady waited about half hour saw me walked up to my mom when I left her and checked my kids bathing suit! Presceeded to tell me again to put a plastic diaper on her. About three or four other families left with me I have never felt so embarrassed she like did that in from of so many people it was rude and she was told so by other customers as well. I went with my husband and 2 kids and we got kicked out of every pool there were except the lil kids pool. The life guards are very rude and have rediculous rules. We had a different life gaurd say something to us at every pool we went to. One guy said it was "Dive time" and there is no life gaurd around in the diving pool. So we had to leave. After other ppl were JUST diving prior to us n no one said anything to them. Then there were other lil kids diving within 5 mins after we got kicked out. The same lifegaurd guy said nothing to anyone else. Not even the lil kid that looked like he was 6 yrs old diving into the 12ft pool with no other adult in the pool with him.Then a different lifegaurd came over n we got kicked out of the lap pool which is 3-4 ft and we were just sitting on the side of the pool. She said as far as the diving pool we WERE allowed to be there she doesnt know why he would say that! She said he had no idea what he was talking about. Needless to say after paying money $20 to get in for the day, we ended up leaving after an hr of being kicked outta every pool..BUT the kiddie pool....... WELL...
