I'm baffled on how this place has a 4.5 rating. Being new to the area I thought I'd dine local and try a new place. The Saloon was empty with the exception of 4 small booths near front door. Not one person at the 50+ ft bar. I sat at a high top directly across from the grill that was behind the bar. My weak drink was served right away but during the next 35 - 40 minutes my chicken never got put on the grill. Based on my obsevations, the cooking staff literally focuses on one order at a time which contradicts the whole concept of of a having a short order grill and staff that knows how to multi-task. Three staff members stood doing nothing while waiting for a to-go order to be placed in bags. Mind you, not one item was cooking on anything on the grill during this 15-20 minute duration. Seems like that would be a good opportunity to throw my chicken on the grill to get it started. Nope! The next order were two burgers ( 2 guys that sat at bar 30 minutes after my arrival). Those two burgers got placed on the upper left section on the approximate 30 inch x 30 inch grill. God forbid you place the chicken I ordered 30 minutes ago on the other 90% of available space of the grill. It's now going on 40 minutes and even if my order was placed on the grill before those 2 burgers finish cooking I'd now have to wait for it to cook. I chose not to wait because those 2 burgers will need to be done first before starting another order. I went up to the bar to pay for my drink and asked why they only cook one order at a time. The bartender responded they had a very small grill. What? Seriously, that's your excuse on why your cooking staff can't process more than on order at a time because those two burgers were taking up all the grill space. She didn't even bother to check to see if my order was lost. Instead, she made excuse that they were busy. I'd like to see how they'd handle a customer in every seat. That would be pure inefficient chaos. However, that assumes they actually have that many customers at one time. I told the bartender I was new to the area and wanted to find good places to eat locally. She said sorry, but you're talking to the wrong person. Wow, there's nothing like passing the customer service buck when you're in the food service industry.
Needless to say, I will never set foot inside that business again. That's okay, I'll spend my money across the street the next time I dine local. To whomever manages or owns that bar & grill, maybe you should actually manage and train your staff so your customers don't walk out. Or, perhaps you're independently wealthy and you don't need paying customers.
To all of the review readers: don't assume I'm a just another Karen. This is the first time in my life I've walked out of a restaurant after placing an order. On the bright side, maybe I avoided food...
Read moreThe owner/manager is not okay. Ordered two tall whiskey diets for my sister and I and the drink tasted nasty. Told our server and the owner said don’t worry about it-he took our drinks put some ice and cracked open a Diet Coke and poured that in our drink. Didn’t change the drink at all. Still disgusting because of the flat pop in it. He was rude, and mean to his employees. Will never go back. Cool atmosphere...
Read moreCute and cozy. Drinks weren't overly priced. (The husband thought $5.75 for a beer was outrageous) I had the lenie chicken wrap. My husband had a burger. We added fries and onion rings because they don't come with the sandwich. The food took a while to get to us but we weren't in a hurry. The staff was friendly. I really wish I would have tried the homemade...
