Decided to try this sushi place, I should have passed. It is a very small and very crowded place. Tables close together and difficult to navigate when occupied. I need a cane to walk with and had to go completely to the back of the restaurant to then get out because there was no room to move between the tables. The table bases are exceptionally large and oddly shaped, so I could not even get my legs under the table to sit properly. The online menu does not match the in house menu and when I asked about an item, the waitress was confused, instead of going to find out from the chefs, she simply said the item was probably not available. They have a large selection of very interesting sushi rolls with both raw and cooked proteins. Their edamame was tasty and served piping hot. I tried their crunch roll and it was tasty. I also ordered their JB roll. But was disappointed, because they had either brushed the sushi roll rice with wasabi or had wasabi all over their fingers when rolling it. Nothing in their description indicated they used wasabi paste on all their rolls! Blech! The salmon sashimi served had been previously frozen and was aging. It was grainy and dry. The pieces were small. I will not be returning...
Read moreFirst I'll be fair and say, yes, the food is delicious at least from what I remember. This review is about the service or lack of, we recieved. Please let me start by stating I am a an educated, well off Latina that never would find herself writing a review like this. I called and asked if we needed reservations and I was told no. We literally showed up 3 minutes later because we were dressed and are staying in 7 timeshares with our extended family less than a mile away. When my husband and I walked in, the hostess said they wouldn't be able to attend us (party of 2), because they had a party of 9 and the restaurant would close by the time they got to us. I truly was perplexed seeing as how 2 separate couples had just walk out and we had an hour to go. I got the entire social distance thing, but not one guest was even wearing a mask. We simply wanted to sit and grab 2 rolls while we ordered take out the rest of our family waiting at the resort. We have never felt as if we didn't fit in until this moment. It was as if our business didn't even matter. Truly sorry that not even an effort was made to accommodate two people. It would've been an...
Read moreAfter a disappointing experience at a nearby restaurant, we decided to give Yu-Mi Sushi a try—and wow, are we glad we did! From the moment we walked in, everything was spot on. The ambiance was warm and inviting, with beautiful Japanese lanterns, posters, and music that set the perfect mood for a great night out.
The service was absolutely top-notch. Our waitresses were incredibly friendly, attentive, and gave us fantastic recommendations for sushi rolls. We ended up ordering four rolls in total, and every single one was a hit. The Siam roll in particular stood out—it was bursting with flavor and the fish was fresh and melt-in-your-mouth good.
We also ordered a bottle of dry sake, which was smooth, crisp, and paired perfectly with our sushi. Honestly, everything about the experience was flawless.
Yu-Mi Sushi has officially become our go-to sushi spot, and we can't wait to come back. If you're looking for incredible sushi, great service, and a cozy, authentic vibe—this is the place....
