Great Food, but Disappointing Seating Policies
I called Corkscrew at noon to inquire about a reservation for 5 PM. I was informed that reservations were only accepted for parties of six or more, but I was assured that a party of five at that time would be perfect to get a booth.
When we arrived at 5 PM, we were told it would be an hour and a half wait to sit inside, but there was availability outside. While deciding, I noticed an empty booth inside. When I asked about it, I was told it was reserved.
During our time at the restaurant, the booth remained empty until 5:45 PM, when a couple was seated there. This was confusing and frustrating since I was told reservations were only for six or more.
Upon leaving at 6:45 PM, I spoke with a manager about the situation. He explained that they do make exceptions and mentioned that the couple who was seated there always requests that specific booth. While we always enjoy the food and the excellent service from the servers, accommodating a party of two over a party of five doesn’t seem like a good business decision.
I think the owner should make seating policies clear to the staff to ensure consistency and avoid discouraging other patrons. Addressing these inconsistencies would enhance the overall experience.
Regarding your reply: If you read my review, I called at 12 to inquire about seating. When I arrived at 5, I was told in would be an hour and a half before seating in restaurant was available. There was an empty booth I was told was reserved and it remained empty until 5:45 at which point a couple was seated there. I spoke to a manager on the way out, who said they make exceptions, and that couple always request that booth. there was 5 of us with a tab of $265. We had to sit outside with dogs, which is also unsanitary. It would behoove you to reevaluate you're seating and non-service...
Read moreWe arrived early at approximately 5:15 PM with a party of eight. We were told to arrive early with that size party without reservations in order to be accommodated. The atmosphere and ambience was pleasant. As we ordered our drinks and appetizers everything appeared to be fine, and if it wasn’t for a couple of mishaps, it would’ve probably been an excellent overall experience. Unfortunately, two ordered a cup of soup (corn, and shrimp chowder) for an appetizer. One ordered the same soup as a bowl for their main course. The two received their cups as an appetizer, and spoke of how amazing it was. Unfortunately, when the main course finally came, they advised us that they had run out of the soup and asked what else we wanted to replace it. Before an answer could be even given or a question could be asked for suggestions the wait staff turned around and walked away. Now the reason the wait staff could’ve been a little flustered is because at the same time they had delivered the other meals one of the Waite staff spilled yellow mustard all over another one of my family members purses and we all know what yellow mustard stain can do to anything especially something white. Now my biggest complaint about these things happening. is not that they happened, because we all know accidents can happen. The issue is how do you resolve this problem once that has occurred. I would think you would offer some type of reimbursement to either party as a gesture of a apology. Neither person received any sort of gesture and life moved on. Again, if they could handle the customer service part of this better than they did with us then the restaurant has a lot...
